dudacek Posted April 3 Report Posted April 3 (edited) Sorry for the clickbait thread title, but @Stoner has poked holes in his super fan status several times since he bought the team. According to a new Athletic article, this is why he switched: Tim Graham with an Athletic piece on the song's 50th anniversary: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6243478/2025/04/03/terry-pegula-sabres-bills-song/ Nostalgic read for Sabres history buffs. matter2003 Posted April 3 Report Posted April 3 Who cares? Jeremy Jacobs was a Sabres fan...hasn't stopped him from wining multiple Stanley Cups with the Bruins 4 Quote
Porous Five Hole Posted April 3 Report Posted April 3 Man moves to new town and becomes a fan of a local radio station and the local team. That tracks. 3 Quote

Kristian Posted April 3 Report Posted April 3 I wish he still was, maybe he’d sell the Sabres and buy the Flyers. 1 4 1 Quote

PerreaultForever Posted April 3 Report Posted April 3 Well he certainly hasn't advocated for Flyers style hockey here that's for sure. 1 Quote

(Lately, Philly is only known for Gritty.) But on the ice, since the Lindros days ended, I think Philly is best known for poor goaltending. For that, Pegula's been spot on. He had a team that was set up to transition from Miller to Ullmark with maybe a 2-year backup contract like Chad Johnson was signed for. 1 Quote

To this day -- TO THIS DAY -- I will occasionally, and with no relation to current circumstances, blurt out "me and the Buffalo Sabres, yeah, yeah, yeah." 1 Quote

If I am not mistaken this year or next is the last but they are still paying Bryzgalov. 1 Quote

OK, how bout I say they have been to multiple Cup Finals then? 😂 Yikes...have been to 7 Cup Finals since then but only 1 win...probably the worst performing Boston team out of the 4 sports teams...which is crazy to think about. The late 69’s and early 70’s Bruins team with Orr snd Esposito only won one Cup too. I heard interviews with some of them and they felt like they wasted their opportunity. They said the did a lot of partying. Quote
Drag0nDan Posted April 4 Report Posted April 4 This is like getting mad about gordon bombay for playing for the hawks when he was 10. Quote

Well I know the Patriots are 6-5. Id have to look up the Celtics and Red Sox. The Celtics I think started with an 8-0 run so that helps. Quote

If he hadn't been a party animal a lot of people think he could have been one of the top players in the league. There were others that indulged heavily as well. They didn't have the discipline and drive of some of those Montreal teams that's for sure. Quote

From the Sabres sole reason for existence is to win the Stanley Cup, to going with KA five years now after a 14 year playoff drought works with me as a good definition of a FRAUD! 1 Quote
