It's Sabres at Caps. UPL had the Saturday start and didn't get chased despite seven goals against, so Ovechkin won't break Gretzky's record today because Reimer is playing. However, Greenway out and likely no Dahlin means that Ovechkin could get close, today. It's the last home game before back-to-back Caps games on the road.

UB women play Rutgers at 2pm in the round of 8 of the women's NIT. Sabres and the Amerks at 3. I think I'll watch basketball first, then catch up with hockey later.

The Sabres without Dahlin are 0/8/2 and have been outscored 48(!) to 25.

Nearly 5 goals against over 10 games!

Just shows how mentally weak the team is. One player, not the goalie, literally makes this team.

Not a lot of self-awareness on Ruff's part.  His teams have now missed the playoffs in 7 of his last 10 seasons as a head coach and he has a .471 winning % in that stretch. He is the man who was brought in to ensure structure and accountability, yet in those years where his team missed the playoffs their average league position for goals against has been 26th. At this point, Ruff is disrespecting the game as much as any player.
