They still have an OT loss to give in their back pocket

The way the playoff point line is trending down, tho, they might be able to lose a few more than we thought.

This was the year to break the drought but the Sabres are trying to throw the baby out with the bath water.

I’m looking at the remainder and I don’t see them winning more that 4 of them.

WSH- L

OTT - probably L

TBL - Lx2

FLA - L

CAR - L

Flyers fans really angry with the Torts firing. They are afraid they will lose their top 5 draft pick (center for Michkov).

A lot of wide open hockey in this game and pretty bad defense. I've been comparing the Flyers rebuild to the Sabres for a couple years now. Teams are different, but just about even so far. Both not good, but that Michkov I think is going to be something else. They need a center and a goalie.

Sorry for triggering Promo because that was pond hockey, but the difference between being a starter and being a JAG is making saves. UPL hasn’t made enough of them this year.

I haven’t given up completely on Jack Quinn, but if I rewind the tape over his NHL career, it seems he only has games like that against teams who are playing like that.

I really wonder if he will ever be strong enough and fast enough to play the style he wants to play against good NHL defence.

When you have a weak defense you need a mental strong goalie who can keep your team in games. UPL is not mentally strong. When things start going south so does UPL.

100% agree.  Tough first couple of shots against him today and he never recovered

To think I was peeved earlier to find out the game was on NHL Network. Obviously a game all of North American hockey fans just had to see. 🙄

Serious question. Has anyone seen Marty Wilford open his mouth this year? The D is pure crap far too often and he just stands there like a wax figure in a museum. Say what you want about Appert but at least he’s engaged with the forward group during the game (for better or worse). What exactly is Wilford’s role during a game? Why is he even on this staff?

Lindy said Dahlin doubtful for Sunday.

Sabres now winless in 10 without the captain.

As if we needed more evidence of Kevyn Adams failures, just think of where they would be without the two key players on the team he didn't acquire.

No trigger here. UPL, right now, is awful. He wasn't awful before. He is now. Happens when you keep giving the other team goals. Even Lindy said it himself today. He called it Christmas and the Sabres were handing out the presents.

Thanks to the NHL for ensuring I would not be tempted to watch this game by restricting it  to their obscure and rarely used NHLN. Their incompetence and bush league status actually helped me in this case by not having to witness that game.

It's always been folly to run him like a top level starter. He's inconsistent. He always has been, and he burns out too. We've needed a 40-50% workload veteran goalie for years now. Every since we lost Ullmark. But Adams disagrees. F'n stupid. UPL is at best part of a tandem.

The defense however, is really horrendous and that exposes goalie issues easily.
