Working out on his own, if memory serves. I also seem to recall him acknowledging that he was probably trying to do too much, or words to that effect. Maybe the question is whether the team properly monitors and prescribes what their players are doing in terms of offseason workouts? 7 minutes ago, Thorner said: That’s why I never understand the people that will carry water for him just because there are other incompetent people around too. He's the worst kind of dummy there is, imo. A guy who reads the right self-help books, internalizes all the right buzz words, learns the cadence and speech patterns of people who know what the funk they're doing, concludes that he's smart and an top of sh1t ... but, in practical terms, is a blundering buffoon. 2 1 Quote

Now I'll be a dick. So he gets injured and can't workout in 2022 then comes back and gets injured after not working because he was injured. You see the problem with your logic timbits? You claim he gets injured because he doesn't workout, dude literally got injured working out and then yea... was injured. It's self fulfilling prophecy but it still counters your OP which was factually nonsense. Jack Quinn isn't getting injured because he's too lazy to workout. 1 Quote

You bolded where I questioned if the Sabres TRACKED OR EMPHASIZED off season workouts. Quote

Personally, I think some guys are injury prone. Their bodies for whatever reason can't handle it and break down more often. 2 Quote

I was just posing a question which you read into terribly and then was factually inaccurate when Quinn injured himself. some people are injury prone but many people are “injury prone” because they’re not properly prepared, physically, for what they’re doing. From what I can see, the highest NFL salary is ~$60 million for Dak Prescott. No one is approaching the NHL salary cap of $88 million. NHL players actually have a higher average salary than the NFL. But that’s what happens when one roster is less than half the size of the other. Quote

I find myself wondering how few Sabres play through injuries compared to other teams that are still competitive. It's fairly well known that Brady Tkachuk is still hurt from the 4Nations but he toughs it out. Norris comes here and he's not fit to go. If he was still in Ottawa would he be sucking it up and playing through it? idk. Hard to say with how little they say these days on what injuries are but I do wonder. A lot of Sabres do seem to miss games for seemingly little things. Quote

I apologize for misreading that part. Quinn has been “injury prone” like Sammuelsson. They both have missed a significant amount of games, due to injuries. Maybe the Sabres are unlucky with their draft picks but neither of them had any significant injuries before they played in the NHL. Quote

It enabled/empowered Pegs to be closer to hockey decisions. Turned out Pegs likes being close to hockey decisions. 1 Quote

Teams can’t force players to participate in off season conditioning. No wonder why these players come to camp out of shape. 1 Quote

I guess I wouldn’t call that approaching, but that’s not really all that important. NHL players get a very sweet deal given the money differences between the two leagues. Guaranteed contracts, higher salaries due to smaller rosters, guaranteed a larger portion of the revenue pie than the NFL… They’ve done very well for themselves. Quote
