Sorry Rochester 100% and we also have cup and char pepperoni and some places have sweet sauce...they made it sound like that was the difference between us and Rochester. 1 Quote
7+6=13 Posted Tuesday at 12:58 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 12:58 PM IMO, whoever came up with this statement, no truer words have been spoken. Pizza is like sex, even when it's bad, it's still pretty good. In saying that, , Charlotte NC who's attracted most chains, has bad pizza overall. Except of course my two Buffalo spots, Taste of Buffalo and Bisonte. Quote

The criteria is a bit weak. You've been going to the same place your parents went to (or your family switched when Steve moved on and is working at the other pizza joint down the street). That's like 9/10 of the pizzas you buy. You know the number by heart, 655-4646 (and I haven't lived anywhere near WNY in 25+years). Quote

Or you order online, which means you searched for the pizza joint you wanna order from. 1 Quote
LETSTUCHINGO Posted Tuesday at 04:44 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 04:44 PM (edited) Best pizza in and around Buffalo, Lock City Pizza in Lockport! Pizza in excellent regular or they have a 3 quarter baked, double dough pie for those off us who like more dough. It doesn't open until 4:30, only takes cash, and takes the phone off the hook frequently bc they are so busy on the daily! Edited Tuesday at 04:50 PM by LETSTUCHINGO Quote
Mango Posted Tuesday at 06:52 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 06:52 PM I'm just north of Albany these days and it has to be one of the worst pizza regions in the country. It's.just.not.good. Actually it's worse than that. It's terrible. I have traveled a ton for work. Coast to coast and internationally. And the capitol region of NYS is horrendous. Them being on this list at all is crazy to me. Quote

So too me that indicates we are lazy and cheap. Kind of like our hockey team at the moment. If you look at the data, you'll see that Buffalo's average large cheese or pepperoni pizza is more expensive than any other city in the top 7. That means more expensive than (in order) Rochester, Philly, Boston, Detroit, New Haven, and Pittsburgh. It's not until NYC at 8th that a more expensive pizza comes into play. Quote

The ROC is chock full of pizza joints. They are everywhere. The number of pizza restaurants per capita. The average price of large cheese and pepperoni pizzas on thousands of pizzeria menus (and how they compare to local incomes). Clever’s Pizza Passion Score, which reflects Google searches related to pizza in various markets. A city’s perceived pizza quality, as measured by a poll of 2,000 Americans. Quote
