Sabres are in Boston on St. Patrick's Day to play the Bruins and face Henri Jokiharju. Since ESPN+ is blacking out the game for me, and Bruins fans are dumping tickets, I'll be at the game in Loge 17 right behind the goal the Sabres shoot at twice. Should I wear the classic royal blue or the Goathead?

Maybe the game will be boring. The Bruins aren't as good as usual.  The Sabres are riding out the rest of the schedule. No more Marchand, Charra, Bergeron.

For me personally it doesn't hurt that I lived in New England for 5+ years and my job is headquartered there, and most of my co-workers are from the suburbs of Boston.

But again, its Buffalo vs Boston. Something about the way those 2 uniforms on the ice look playing together, something about the way "Buffalo vs Boston" sounds to many Sabres fans.  Its Boston, I'll be watching tonight.

The current road whites are the best if you have it.  Otherwise classic blue.  Wear Goathead when the team is wearing them.

I only have one Sabres jersey, the classic home whites from the 70's, of course.

I have both blue and white. (White 72 Tage.)

Norris isn't even skating? Le sigh.

I wonder if Jokiharju fights tonight. Just for fun. Just grabs Power in a scrum, ragdolls him, and then just unleashes 6 seasons of pent-up rage fists.

I think there is a better chance of seeing Jar Jar Binks speak in the Queen's english while playing R2D2's wingman at Mos Eisley Cantina.

In other words, it ain't happenning...

I don't really like Greenway on that Thompson-Tuch line, but with Norris and Peterka still out, what do you do? It looks like for the time being, Thompson is back at center.

I like Benson-McLeod-Zucker a lot, but ideally that is a 3rd line, not a 2nd line.

Murray's weakness is skating, at least with Quinn and Krebs, you aren't asking him to keep up with 2 speedsters. Krebs is OK skating, but that isn't a lighting fast line.

Kozak on the 4th line, I'm not sure exactly how good he is, but I do know when I watch him he doesn't look out of place.

I personally would have liked Rosen in Murray's spot. You need to start seeing if Rosen has what it takes versus gifted minutes to a 26yr old AHL guy. I think Benson, McLeod, Zucker is the formation of a defensively responsible 2nd line. Zucker and McLeod are 4th and 5th in scoring for forwards and Benson is sound enough defensively that we shouldn't worry about him dragging that line down at all. I think that line is far better than anything Kulich would be centering if he were healthy.

That would actually make the season totally worth it for me.

Yeah. I just think Greenway is a very good 3rd liner, I really didn't like him on the Tuch and Thompson line last game.  I just thought that is the worst Tuch and Thompson played overall throughout the entire game that they have since the few games they played with Cozens. The line didn't 'flow' well.  Maybe they'll be better tonight.  I do remember Greenway looking good with those 2 in a game earlier in the year though..so maybe it was just one game.

I get what you say about the 2nd line though.

Normally at this point in the season, I'd agree with you. But I think Boston has already lived through their "Nobody believes in us!" post-trade-deadline bump. They still don't have Lindholm or McAvoy. Their lineup is gross (even with Mitts and Joker added). The finality of their season and the reality of golfing in April is setting in with them.

Boston's recent outcomes:  W2 - L2 - W2 - L5 - W1 - L3 - W2 - L2 and counting....

Sabres 5, Bruins 2

On the ice this isn't the same Boston team of course.

Don't be afraid of pasts ghosts of the uniform or the city...because the roster you are facing is beatable.

I'm not even going to hazard a guess on this one. I have no clue which version of the Sabres we get tonight, but the Bruins are reeling (lost 10/13) and seem to be just riding out the string like us. We should win this one, but who knows.

Going with the wife to look at a new car for her after work, so I'll likely miss a chunk of this one. They seem to do better when I don't watch, so yay?
