This 100%. His attitude was horrible day one. Screw him! Quote

Goalie - Ullmark, Comrie Defense - Montour, McNabb, Zadorov, Myers, Borgen, Ristolainen and McCabe Forwards - Eichel, Reinhart, ROR, Mittelstadt, Cozens, Erod, E Robinson, Hall, Skinner, Olofsson, Armia, Marcus Foligno and Carrier I'd say it looks like an owner that brought in a lot of good players. Crusader1969 Posted 11 hours ago Author Report Posted 11 hours ago Eric Comrie I would have thought would be near the top of the lists They missed the playoffs by 1 point in 22/23. Comrie played 19 games with a record of 9-9-1 but had a save % of .880. He was absolutely terrible. A 40 year old Anderson had a Save % of .910 and let in .62 less goals per game If only Anderson was able to play more games , they would have undoubtedly made the playoffs that year Even a very raw UPL and absolute rookie in Levi outplayed him 4 hours ago, DarthEbriate said: OP stated post-Tank. Kane and Bogo - they were matching set of bad and they hurt the fragile and evolving team chemistry. Absolutely the wrong kind of players for young Jack and Sam to be around. Murray sucked in every way and he too shares the top spot with the players of his signature trade. 2. Taylor Hall - he never tried to help, he took the money and he ran. He was an underperformer for most of his career anyway. 3. Eric Stahl - similar to Hall, I expected hard play and leadership and got nothing. 4. Berglund - the entire city of St Louis knew this guy had issues, but Buffalo didn't. He did us a big favor by quitting. 5. Lehner - just always seemed to be unstable, he was an inconsistent player that choked in the moment. Even after he left he just would not go away. 6. Dmitry Kulikov Slava Kozlov - he was the first player to make me realize that Buffalo was no longer a hockey destination. I was stuck in the 70 and 80s until this guy came around. edit: mixed up the Russians I agree with all of your choices, except for some reason, I have no ill will against Bogo. I would add Ville Leino. I would also add, somewhat controversially, Patrick Kaleta. I thought he epitomized the big effort, low skill player who management seemed to adore. We had way too many of them when we needed big effort, highly skilled players who we had way too little of. Kaletas most praised skill was drawing penalties (and then turtling when the opponent retaliated.) Blech. 1 Quote
GoPuckYourself Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago 1. Rasmus Ristolainen- Maybe one of the most frustrating players I've ever witnessed with so much potential but was fine just being mediocre which is probably why I can barely even look at Owen Powers face anymore. 1 Quote

The one thing I will say about both Power and Risto is the Sabres organization didn't do either any favours in their development. for shits and giggles - here is what chatGPT says " In short, Ristolainen’s struggles in Buffalo were a combination of mismanagement, poor team structure, and misalignment between his skill set and role. He was often criticized for what he wasn’t rather than being utilized for what he could be." Edited 3 hours ago by Crusader1969 Quote
Crusader1969 Posted 3 hours ago Author Report Posted 3 hours ago And how is Risto doing now in Philly " Rasmus Ristolainen has experienced a resurgence in his performance since joining the Philadelphia Flyers. After facing challenges during his tenure with the Buffalo Sabres, his game has evolved positively in Philadelphia. Improved Performance: • Ristolainen is in the midst of a breakout season at 30 years old, showcasing significant improvements in his defensive reliability and offensive contributions." maybe a player that you could pair with Power? Would be hilarious if nothing else Quote
pi2000 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago "Hate" is a strong word, these are people with families and lives of their own. I'll never hate someone for how they play hockey. That said, never felt like these guys cared much about winning in Buffalo... Leino, Berglund, Hall, Staal, Kozlov, Kane. This season that guy is Samuelsson... and Cozens the last few months, he was checked out. Quote

Never saw him that way. "Fine with being mediocre". I saw him as confused a lot but lack of effort wasn't a critique I'd put on him. Power on the other hand, well, yes, sometimes he looks like he just doesn't care. Quote
