Crusader1969 Posted Saturday at 06:59 PM Report Posted Saturday at 06:59 PM Post Tank. Rank your most hated that they were on the Sabres 1- Carter Hutton 2- Cody Eakins 3- Josh Gorges 4 - Eric Comrie 5 - Matthias Samuelsson (moving up fast) 6 -Evan Rodriquez (hated him here but turned into a good player that I'd welcome back) 7 - Vladimir Sobotka 8 - Jacob Bryson - no one represents Adams malpractice more that Bryson 9 Jeff Skinner - hate only started last season His lack of 2 way effort as a vet spread like a cancer throughout the team 10 - Taylor Hall - what a disappointment 1 Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted Saturday at 07:02 PM Report Posted Saturday at 07:02 PM Berglund followed by Hall a close 2nd. Berglund acted like a child and quit on the team (and himself). Hall is second. He scammed Adams and the Sabres for a $8 deal and a NMC then literally gave the team zero effort. Adams get most of the blame for letting it happen, but Hall and his agent scammed the Sabres. 2 3 Quote

Weave Posted Saturday at 07:50 PM Report Posted Saturday at 07:50 PM Off the list. Berglund. Flat out quit without so much as an attempt to try. 2 Quote
PerreaultForever Posted Saturday at 08:24 PM Report Posted Saturday at 08:24 PM Ya Berglund's a good one. Quit the NHL rather than play in Buffalo, that was something else. Overall I don't hate any of them. My hate is reserved for Pegula and the lackies he hires like Adams. Never liked Skinner. Don't hate him though. Glad he's gone. Really don't like Evander Kane. I guess Hate fits there. Most disappointing are obviously Matt Moulson and Ville Leino if we are going back that far. I was thinking the other day though that I could actually assemble a better roster with ex-Sabres still playing than the current roster but all that's on management. That's who I hate. 1 Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted Saturday at 08:53 PM Report Posted Saturday at 08:53 PM What would an ex-Sabres roster look like? Goalie - Ullmark, Comrie Defense - Montour, McNabb, Zadorov, Myers, Borgen, Ristolainen and McCabe Forwards - Eichel, Reinhart, ROR, Mittelstadt, Cozens, Erod, E Robinson, Hall, Skinner, Olofsson, Armia, Marcus Foligno and Carrier Quote
Porous Five Hole Posted Saturday at 08:58 PM Report Posted Saturday at 08:58 PM Eric Staal as a Sabre always bothered me. 1 1 Quote

mjd1001 Posted Saturday at 09:29 PM Report Posted Saturday at 09:29 PM (edited) Hate is a tough word. Is it guys who I don't like personally? Or guys who were awful players? Or guys who's presence here set the franchise back because of the ice time/opportunity they got here? I'll go with the last. I can't think of any players that I didn't like as a 'person', and it would be too easy to pick the guys who played only a handful of games because they weren't good enough. So who do I think hurt the team the most with a sprinkle of not liking how they handled things? 1. Berglund - Just handled the whole situation terribly 2. Sabotka - The anti-blocking someone case. He was one player that SHOULD have been replaced with a youngster 3. Cozens - Hope he does well, tried hard, nice guy. But he hurt the team on the ice, didn't know his role, was overpaid and overused. 4. Risto - Kinda like Cozens above. No reason to hate him as a person, but he hurt the team so much on the ice but kept getting put out there. 5. Bogosian - Never really seemed like he wanted to be here despite being from the area, and his talent was vastly overrated. 6. Steve Ott - Tough guy, was in the leadership group. But for some reason I cannot explain he rubbed me the wrong way. 7. Tyson Strachon - Odd and obscure choice, but I seem to remember he played here one season and was quite probably the worst d-man I ever saw in the NHL. 8. Taylor Hall - Given a big contract and did nothing, then left pretty quick. 9. Dmitry Kulikov - Understatement to say him coming to Buffalo was a disaster 10. Eric Comrie - Just was awful. He had a few early games were he was good, it sucked me in, I defended him on this board but he kept getting worse, and worse. Maybe not the list for this, but maybe an honorable mention for me would be Eichel. No hatred, but something else. He was one of the, if not the best player on this team during the drought. To my knowledge he never said much bad about the team, his teammates or the city when he was here. So certainly not 'hated' at all by me....its just from day #1...I never quite 'connected' with him as much as I would have thought I would with a 'franchise' guy or a 'semi-generational' guy that we were told he was. I think a drought-era most liked list would be more interesting. Edited Saturday at 09:37 PM by mjd1001 1 Quote

You couldn’t find some hate for Taylor Hall. I sure could. He might be the only one on my list. Although, I think if I dug down even just a little, I could find some for Berglund, as well. 1 Quote

North Buffalo Posted yesterday at 12:06 AM Report Posted yesterday at 12:06 AM Eichel for some reason always bothered me, though Sabres botched medical side... tethering since Eichel debacle has become much more common and in many cases very successful especially for athletes 2 Quote

thewookie1 Posted yesterday at 01:17 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:17 AM Hatred might be a strong word for Berglund; more akin to offended or disrespected would be more accurate. I did however hate how he came in to be a good influence for the players and the many young Swedes we had supposedly followed him around like ducklings. For him to just say FU and walk off and then apparently try to make a comeback the following two years certainly gained my ire but hatred wouldn’t be accurate. Taylor Hall and Eric Staal will always feel swarmy to me as both came here talking about good game only to mail it in until they were dealt. One of the only players I ever hated as a Sabre was Slava Koslov due to his rather visual disdain for the team and city as well as him being the return from the Hasek trade. Quote

OverPowerYou Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago (edited) Kyle Okposo. Always injured and never lived up to expectations. Plus he made a fortune meanwhile being a 4th liner who was slow and alienated the fan base with the whole stick raising thing Edited 13 hours ago by OverPowerYou 1 Quote

He didn’t sign himself. He didn’t play himself with John Tavares to inflate his stats to earn him his lucrative payday with the Sabres. Hate the guy who signed him. Quote
Pimlach Posted 11 hours ago Report Posted 11 hours ago (edited) I don't hate them, but I wish these guys were never Sabres: 1. Kane and Bogo - they were matching set of bad and they hurt the fragile and evolving team chemistry. Absolutely the wrong kind of players for young Jack and Sam to be around. Murray sucked in every way and he too shares the top spot with the players of his signature trade. 2. Taylor Hall - he never tried to help, he took the money and he ran. He was an underperformer for most of his career anyway. 3. Eric Stahl - similar to Hall, I expected hard play and leadership and got nothing. 4. Berglund - the entire city of St Louis knew this guy had issues, but Buffalo didn't. He did us a big favor by quitting. 5. Lehner - just always seemed to be unstable, he was an inconsistent player that choked in the moment. Even after he left he just would not go away. 6. Dmitry Kulikov Slava Kozlov - he was the first player to make me realize that Buffalo was no longer a hockey destination. I was stuck in the 70 and 80s until this guy came around. edit: mixed up the Russians Edited 9 hours ago by Pimlach Quote
