It was a lazy play.  Just a bad play to end a period.  They do it a lot.  The last 3 minutes of any period you button down and play disciplined smart hockey.  It is a different game when the clock gets to that point.

It was the opposite of a lazy play. Greenway made an extra effort to knock the puck away and caught a skate instead.
