Who wouldn’t get rattled with the clown show that we have on defense out there and then also forward to don’t play both ways and barely skate. Hard like Quinn tonight.

Watch UPL go to a different organization and be a top five goaltender in the NHL. And then we’ll cry about how we had him and some people ran him out.

I don't think too many want to run out of town.  We all want them to improve their D play but you can't argue that he hasn't be average at best this season

Yeah, that’s what I thought. That’s the extent of your ability to break down the situation.

Because it’s so much easier just to say “he stinks!!!” at the TV

I’ve definitely acknowledged that he hasn’t been consistent this year. I think that there needs to be some serious consideration for what it does to a goaltender psychologically to play with a team this bad in front of him. This inconsistent.

We can’t pretend that there’s not an organizational issue here where good young players go elsewhere and thrive. That there’s a problem here ruining our players psychologically. Why wouldn’t we extend that to UPL?

I’m simply opening up a discussion about the why not about the what. He absolutely has not been good enough. But I have absolutely zero issue with him right now. Because this organization needs to seriously revamp this team going into next season with UPL and Levi goaltending is not on my list of concerns. The other aspects of this team need to be shored up first. Watch what happens to UPL and Levi when there is some competence in front of them on a nightly basis.

We all said that about Ullmark.

Ullmark was a much better and more consistent goalie than Luukkonen for the Sabres. Ullmark's career low in save percentage was .905. His second worst season is .912, this year, with Ottawa.

Luukkonen was one of the hottest goalies in the league the 2nd half of last season and he only got to .910. He's had one season better than that at .917, which was all of 9 games.

Ullmark was, and remains, a bonafide 1A starter in this league.

Goalie let in goal! Goalie bad! Get new goalie!

That’s quite the argument you’re making here. You should be sure to pass that along to management this off-season.

Mr. Luukkonen, I am sorry we are saying such mean things about your son. I just don't think he's good enough at this moment in time

Need to either move on from UPL and go to Levi and a cheap vet

or have a tandem of UPL and Levi and have Levi push UPL to be his best , if not Levi takes the net

We tried that this season and Levi ended up in the AHL and we had to pull Remer off of waivers.   Levi had a whopping 4.12 GAA in the NHL this season.

UPL is at 3.11, and he has been inconsistent, but some nights he is very good.  UPL won the Tampa game for this team and that was just 2 days ago, remember?

Both of them benefit if we fix team defense.  Hard to believe that Ruff's team played worse defense than Granato's but they have.

Let's not rewrite history. The general SabreSpace consensus was Ullmark sucked.
