The injury just gave Adams a “reason” to trade him We signed taylor hall as a result of eichel essentially asking them to do something or he was going public with a trade request. After his injury and subsequent flame out by hall, he still wanted to be traded. He wanted the ADR surgery, and i think adams was opposed simply because he didn't want him to further damage his value. They tried rehab and it didn't work - if he had made any commitment to the franchise at that point i'm sure he would've been allowed to get whatever surgery he wanted. Then Eichel went public with the whole - they wont let me get surgery debacle. 1 1 1 Quote
CallawaySabres Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago Like we couldn’t see that 1,000,000 miles away. Good for him, he definitely deserves to be on a real hockey team. Quote

Nothing seems to get through to these people that 14 years without the playoffs is not acceptable. That not having a plan to improve is not OK. That cheaping out on the Sabres and hoping things improve is not a plan. Id have Tage and Tuch go too with the same message. Maybe that would wake Pegula up to what an absolute clusterf$&k this organization is Worked with Eichel. Quote

I’m not happy where we’re at. I don’t want to lose. We have to get better. I never said I want out of here.” #Sabres That’s from Harrington 1 1 Quote

"I haven't even mentioned the word 'leave'." So there was a meeting and something was discussed. I'm sure it wasn't who they think the Bills will sign in free agency. 11 minutes ago, CallawaySabres said: Like we couldn’t see that 1,000,000 miles away. He wants Adams to do stuff or he'll go straight to the owner and perhaps recruit Bills players to aid in his coup 1 Quote

The issue with Eichel was he literally could not play hockey without surgery. It's not apples to apples. I get leverage and all that. Losing Dahlin would impact this team, I'm not about to defend some player who took an $11M contract and then turn around and forced his way off the team. If he was that concerned he should have negotiated a shorter contract. Him pushing his way off the team would negatively impact the team. A team we all want to improve. So, if he pushes his way off the team he's contributing to this team losing more. Why on Earth would I support him in his endeavor? I wouldn't. I support him in his endeavour to put pressure on ownership and management to improve the team. 1 1 Quote

Adams has his run and probably needs to go, but don't pretend a new GM magically turns this around on a dime. This assumes that ownership is actively withholding and resisting improving the team. Quote

He was able to use that as an excuse to trade him. Jack wanted out before the end of the prior season. Quote

The first part of your sentence, up to the comma, is all I have ever said. The second part, after the comma, is you making stuff up. 1 Quote

We didn’t know Jack wanted out either until the whole neck surgery thing. Then it got out he asked for a trade and the end of the previous season Quote

dudacek Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago Didn’t Adams say during his presser that he had a long talk with Dahlin at or around the deadline? I don’t doubt Bisonette was told what he was told, or that Dahlin expressed frustration during that meeting with the state of the team, or that Dahlin is being truthful in his quotes this morning. Sounds like a bit of game of telephone going on here. 3 1 Quote

I honestly don't blame him. Nothing is being done to make players think they will be anything other than the worst team in the league again next year. The fact that Adams is still here screams they are not serious about winning. Dahlin has seen NOTHING but incompetency since being drafted, and there is really no end in sight. Quote

Sounds like a bit of game of telephone going on here. Dahlin tells Adams he isn't happy with the state of the team and wants help improving results. Someone leaks Dahlin isn't happy the Bisonnette decides to infer he wants out Hence Dahlin's vehement denial of asking to leave rather than just claiming the whole thing was false. Quote
DarthEbriate Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago I seriously doubt Dahlin told GM Sheevyn he wants out if things aren't fixed. That's standard content-saturation sensationalism. But I don't doubt that in their conversations he's expressed frustration with GM and ownership about wasting years and talents of players and the need to continuously improve. Dahlin has one hockey lifetime to be the best he can be, and this present hockey lifetime it is impossible to be the best you can be on the Sabres. (And that's not because Dahlin occasionally makes turnovers like every other puckhandling NHL defenseman makes turnovers.) I want my captain pushing leadership to improve. "We [the players] won't get another shot at this, Admiral [the owner]." so to speak. Quote
Weave Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago From Bluesky….. If we learned anything from the Eichel experience… Stage 1 - People talk about if he could get traded and we laugh it off Stage 2 - Other fan bases/media start writing about what it would take to get him, we yell he’s not getting traded Stage 3 - He’s actually available Think we’re in Stage 1. 1 1 Quote
pi2000 Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago fwiw a close friend of mine who played with him in Sweden has told me the same thing... actually i'm mildly surprised it's taken this long for this info to get out. Quote
