Time will tell if this is a nothing burger. If they miraculously become a playoff team next season, it’s a nothing burger. If they stay in the bottom of the league in the next couple seasons, this will turn out to be truth.

This is not how truth works.  No matter what happens in the future, it has no impact on what actually happened in that conversation.

As mentioned above, this really seems like a game of telephone and a bunch of people with zero factual knowledge pretending they can read between the lines in a book they never even saw.

Dahlin does not seem like the quitting type to me, quite the opposite actually

Wanting to be here" is most important to Terry and Kevyn.  Dahlin just has to say and act like he wants out, there is tremendous precedent that says his request will be granted.

Exactly! Adams has said multiple times that he only wants players that want to be in Buffalo. Cozens is another example of a player not wanting to be in Buffalo anymore. Him standing there, watching Dahlin get punch by two guys showed me that Dylan was done. He got what he wanted.

How about the workhorse from whitehorse. I bet two seasons ago you would have said the same damn thing about Cozens.

I think Dahlin is learning that he needs to look out for himself. Plain and simple. He can say that he wants to be part of the solution but his career is way more than the Buffalo Sabres

Muel is up next.....completely ignored what was happening in the scrums and skated away.

Let’s just add this to another unfounded assumption based on absolutely nothing.  Thank you for perfectly demonstrating my point.

The first part of your sentence, up to the comma, is all I have ever said. The second part, after the comma, is you making stuff up.

My point is if Dahlin wants things to turn around fast, a new GM doesn't make it happen automatically, especially with all the negatives around this team.

The negatives associated around this team (your words) is a self-creation. Players such as Eichel, Reinhard, Ullmark, Montour, ROR etc all wanted out, and got out. And the primary reason was that they thought that the organization either wasn't committed to winning or was simply incapable of accomplishing it. The underlying reason, whether you agree with their stance or not, has over the past number of years proven to be true.

Let's put aside the Dahlin issue. What happens if Tuch, Byram and others decide to ride out their contracts so that they can leave this organization due to expiring contracts. Will we again go through this internal purge again, and again? It's bad enough that the franchise most cited in player no move clauses are the Sabres. But the other worry is that not only do players from the outside don't want to come here, but players inside the system want out. The Pegula era has been a disaster. And it will continue on that sordid way until he either sells or sees the light. It's a very discouraging situation.

Dahls got balls. I like it. Its everything you’d hope your capt. Would do in a situation like the Sabres. If true I hope others follow it up with similar demands of the gm and owner. Everyone understands the ineptitude of this moronic owner. No one needs a cliff notes explanation of whats taken place since TP took possession of this team. Hold his feet to the fire. Run him out of town if necessary. Whatever it takes to take back our Sabres.

Oh I agree, that’s BS.

He said they rented their own lane on the opposite side of the kids, spent 10 minutes with the kids and the other 110 minutes bowling and drinking beers just the two of them.

Listen to the Rivet story on after the whistle about eichel. I 100% believe it.

It could get that way. How come you don’t hear about Eichel or Reinhardt being toxic on the teams now? Could they just have been toxic because they wanted out and made it known?

Probably because they are just one piece of a team now, not the center of the freakin' universe. They can't get away with acting like they did here.

I honestly don’t think that Pegula would listen to any player. They are just a commodity to him

This is actually quite ridiculous.

Amending this to add: I think the Chiclets guys' sources are strictly North Americans guys. So I tended to doubt this when I first heard it. Like, how would Biz know what Dahlin was saying? But to @dudacek's theory on the "telephone game," the source here is probably a North American player who's relating what he heard/understood about the meeting.

Im betting it was someone he talked to about the Cozens trade.

He was probably told something like “everyone is mad.  Even Dahlin met with KA over the trade.  He voiced his frustration over the season and the team.”

Something like that.

Because I guarantee KA talked with Dahlin before making this trade.

We should prep for this. It’s not going to stop. The discourse around the Sabres is going to be brutal. Wait until the lottery. The Sabres will be mocked mercilessly for being at the top of the draft yet again, with nothing to show for the last 4 other times.

1. Rigas family loses team, NHL takes over

2. Cheap Golisano takes over, doesn’t allow GM to keep great team together

3. Incompetent owner Pegula takes over. All franchise players leave and win Stanley cup

4. Stuck in hockey wasteland for an eternity
