If I was Beane and Ogunjobi or his agent knowingly lied to me then I would certainly recoup some of that money. Well a third of that money is gone right away, at least for Ogunjobi. Jochen Hecht gets to stick around a bit longer. Quote
JustOneParade Posted March 29 Report Posted March 29 Benford extended. 4x$19M. $76M total. Very good deal. And congrats CB. What a story he’s been. Happy for the kid. 2 1 Quote
Mr. Allen Posted Wednesday at 10:31 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 10:31 PM What are we thinking for the 1st round? Trade up/trade down? Offense/defense? Any specific players or position you hope we target? For me, I think we go defense. Stay put and take best DL or DB. I’d prefer DB. Someone like Emmanwori or even Ben Morrison (I’m a big ND guy). 1 Quote

Dr. Who Posted Thursday at 02:13 AM Report Posted Thursday at 02:13 AM If they trade up, Minnesota at #24 has been talked about as a likely partner. They need picks. Quote
JujuFish Posted Thursday at 02:52 AM Report Posted Thursday at 02:52 AM I don't follow enough college football to have any sense of the draft. I'm just curious to see who we pick after the fact and also hoping like hell the Patriots don't get Travis Hunter. Quote

irregularly irregular Posted Thursday at 04:26 PM Report Posted Thursday at 04:26 PM Use all those picks to move up every chance they get. I'd be fine with only 5 draft picks that included players who are highly likely to make the team coming out of training camp with talent to match areas of need. Get Josh his wide receiver at some point and the rest of the picks go toward improving the defense. Quote

Pimlach Posted 17 hours ago Report Posted 17 hours ago (edited) I am liking the pick at #30 for a CB. He is already 9 pounds up from the college weight and still had the fastest sprint time in the combine. The kid can play man or zone. Another kid from an SEC school, and he wants to play in Buffalo. Winning culture is all it takes. Edited 9 hours ago by Pimlach 2 Quote
Mr. Allen Posted 17 hours ago Report Posted 17 hours ago I couldn’t believe Will Johnson was falling right into our laps. I thought for sure he would be the pick. When healthy he was a top 10 pick. But something must not be right with his knee. I like the Hairston pick. Dude is fast. Seems like a great kid. Hoping he pans out. Now we gotta get some DL. I’d still like a safety. Maybe a speed WR. Maybe a RB to replace Cook (this draft is loaded with rb talent). I’m actually hoping we take a late round chance on that UB linebacker Dolac. 1 Quote

That was weird about Johnson, wasn't it? Great value that late. I figured BB would be all over that one, but he chose the fastest DB in the draft over one of the slowest. But still, I would have thought Johnson was a perfect fit. Every team passed on him? Medical(knee)? Skeletons in the closet? I suspect tomorrow we'll hear about guys who have a chance to make the roster and be solid ST's contributors. Also hope the Bills get back into Rd 3 to get a guy they really like that can fill one of their big needs. Quote
Mr. Allen Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago There’s two safeties I still really like. Emmanwori and Watts. A bunch of good CB’s still and I don’t think I’d mind if we double dipped. But DL is probably our biggest need. Hopefully we use some of those extra picks to trade up and get the guys McBeanne really want. 1 Quote
shrader Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago I wonder if Johnson could still be an option if they want to package picks to move up a bit. 1 Quote

My buddy is a big nfl draft guy and I asked, he said medicals Sent me his mock and didn't put Johnson in the first round. Dude got 30 of 32 picks in the 1st round (so 30 of players that went he had going) with 12 correct, so team and pick Edited 16 hours ago by LGR4GM Quote

They discussed Will Johnson’s medical issues being the reason he fell for almost the entire first round. 1 1 Quote
