Joki is easily an effective top 6 D in this league... Top 4 IMO given he's a RHD. If a 4th is all we could get for him, we should have kept him... Especially since resigning Byram is such a bad idea.

If the Bruins sign him I agree with you but as a UFA a guy like him wasn't going to get you much as he wouldn't be seen as a playoff guy.

He was harder than Power by a bunch. And I've seen him give retaliatory slashes and get scrappy, something I've not seen from Samuelsson. But it is true, he wasn't going to clear the crease. I don't know if JBD will, either. Joker is heavier than JBD.

Yep, Power is the softest.   He has 23 hits in 61 games.  Little Zach Benson has the same.

Does this trade make the team better ?

we seem to be going backwards.

This trade was getting some kind of asset for a player that had no intention of staying.

As for the delay in announcing the terms, I wonder if in these last-second deals the teams agree first who is getting traded, report it to the league, then hammer out the details?

But Benson knows how to use his leverage... power knows how to use his stick.

I’ve been thinking about Owen’s comment that he had to stop being physical at a young age because he was always getting penalized. Not sure if there is any truth there but there have been brief glimpses of him being physical.  Maybe he needs a hypnotist or something to bring his nastiness back.  FTR, I don’t think it’s coming back.  Would be a heck of a thing if it did.

Just another potential benefit of signing a big nasty grown ass RHD to complement Dahlin and protect our Captain.

Perhaps all Power needs is to be mentored by a D Man he can look up to and learn the NHL physical game from. Was just getting to know Gilbert.

Get on it, Adams.

Power is not going to be a physical defender. This is a prerecorded message.

And Dahlin can look after himself just fine.

For what?  He is completely useless in the defensive zone.  He is often out of position, doesn’t clear the crease, and is a giveaway machine.  This is his 3rd NHL season and he hasn’t improve at all defensively.  In fact, I’d argue he is worse this year than last.

Honestly, I doubt he’ll ever be even adequate defensively or will ever play to his contract cost.

Maybe don't take what I said out of context.

These trade requests are prob more common that one thinks

Perhaps they should play better and work harder instead of making lazy mistakes and  going on vacations before complaining about playing here.

It must have been so brief that I missed it completely.

Mittelstadt with an assist. Wearing #11. Maybe that’s what was holding him back in Buffalo.

Frederic's number. With all their retired numbers not a lot of the lower ones open in Boston but 11 was there for the taking. Mitts underwhelmed though. Still doesn't finish his checks and I'm not sure that'll stand for long in Boston.

Jokiharju on the other hand looked really good today. Made Zadorov look better. Best I've seen him play all  year aside from maybe the Finland games. Bruins surprisingly lunch bucket their way to a victory. Didn't expect that from a gutted roster.

Bruins will tear it down and get it back before the sabres are relevant again if ever.

I mean, they’ve already done it once since we started our slide.  Why not twice?

Funny how people who hate all the losing are the ones who keep losing.
