Well, you are allowed to trade injured players. So I’d hazard to say if he was dealing with something we knew it. And that they played him anyways.. ya I imagine that happens. Doesn’t seem very smart Quote

Doesn’t seem very smart It’s almost as if they felt forced to play him right away to please the fans. That would be just plain stupid because it doesn’t matter one bit right now that he plays any of the remaining games of a lost season. I wonder if they may have sat him initially if Boris Becker, or whatever his name is, had been ready to go from day one. Quote

sabremike Posted Friday at 07:07 PM Report Posted Friday at 07:07 PM So a comically inept and in over his head GM who was desperate and panicing made a forved ill advised trade that ended up a complete disaster in a weeks time. Stevie Wonder could've seen this coming. Quote

Weave Posted Friday at 09:44 PM Report Posted Friday at 09:44 PM (edited) I thought it was addition by subtraction. That makes Norris’ availability gravy, right? smh Edited Friday at 09:44 PM by Weave Quote
DarthEbriate Posted Friday at 09:59 PM Report Posted Friday at 09:59 PM He has an injury history, but if he’d been recently injured before the trade, and wasn’t on Ottawa’s injury report, AND passed his Sabres physical…. Then I think you’d have a pretty angry NHLPA at the moment. Seems like it’s related to the Wings game. Quote
SHAAAUGHT!!! Posted yesterday at 12:06 AM Report Posted yesterday at 12:06 AM Are there any details on his injury? Is everyone freaking out over a possible cold/flu? Quote

That’s the trade And we gave up an extra 2nd rounder, in a predicted to be strong 2026 draft. When we do we see the guy with 3 names? Quote

He learned from GMTM -- got an extra 2nd? -- trade it for that fourth line winger. (And D-Lo is still playing and I liked Fasching as a prospect... but come on! McNabb was a top-4 guy.) 1 Quote

I read some evaluations of the trade from a few analysts. In general, it seems that it was an equitable deal for both teams. However, it was pointed out that the risk of the deal leans toward the Sabres because of Norris's injury history. As others are also noting, it was questioned why the Sabres gratuitously gave up a second-round pick? I'm not suggesting that our GM was outhustled in this deal. What I can say is that he didn't maximize his hand in this deal by unnecessarily giving up the second-round pick. With KA steering the ship, this franchise continues to remain stuck on the rocky shoals. Quote
