I expected less so I'm surprised.

He is net negative player. For the last 2 years the team 'loses' when he is on the ice. Every player he has played with for more than a handful of shifts per season is worse when they play with him.  A legit argument can be made this team gets better simply getting rid of him.

I'm sure other teams scouts, and their analytics depts all know this also.

That 2nd has about a 1 in 100 chance of being a good nhl level player in the next 3-4 years.  I'm ok with it.

Gilbert is not a great player but as you said he is one of the few guys on this team that will 'go' with anyone when needed.  Hopefully since he is gone, a suitable replacement for that role is incoming.

We have to get a lot better that this to make the playoffs. Also, if Benson can barely crack the 4th line, what do we do with the other 3 1st rounders in Rochester. We gotta deal some of these guys and upgrade our top 9.

My initial reaction is that Norris is the better player right now and we need legit D help.  I don’t know if the acquired D is a good player or not, but he was a 1st rd pick who has been developing slowly.  If he is an upgrade on Bryson, or Gilbert or Joki, then he might be a net positive.  

Of course the downside is Cozens finally steps up and Norris continues to get injured.  

Wait and see.  Truthfully I was hoping for some cap savings.

It’s an asset.  It’s something you can use for a different trade.  Why just give it away?  With your thinking we might as well just included our 3rd and 4th as well.

Hopeful me wanted a bigger return for Cozens but realistically he has been so awful for 2 years you had to move on from him. If Norris can stay healthy he will be a better 2nd centre option

I would like to see the overhaul the entire d pros outside Dahlin.

As of right now, B-Docker is on LTIR, but is practicing and will debut in short order.

If Joker is moved as expected, I think you start JBD with Power just to see what happens, put Byram back with Dahlin, and do Samuelsson/Clifton as they had earlier in the year. 

Ruff will do none of these things.

Yup. It's fine. I think he's got the talent, and I think he's got the smarts, to keep developing. It's too bad they couldn't let him develop in the AHL, but that's the modern NHL.

He might be the only young player I like on this team, but I'm not going to argue that he deserves more ice time on a higher line right now.

They couldn't send him to the A, so they're doing exactly what they should be doing with him. If you have a problem with that, take it up with Gary Bettman.
