Wyldnwoody44 Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 So we sign zucker and Greenway.. Next year that locks in a good chuck of our players and now what, we refurbish the 4th line? I don't see adams having the Kahunas or ability to overhaul the top 6 or the Top 4 Dmen, so to me, keeping these guys (while a nice story) seems to be alerting the fans that the answers are "still in the room" Idk about this. 1 3 Quote

mjd1001 Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 (edited) Good I guess. But again as many of us are talking about in other threads...this is a case of 'let's keep the band together' or "let's focus on keeping everyone who is here this year so they will be here next year two'. Lets keep everyone happy and comfortable, this is working SO well. I'm lukewarm on keeping Greenway here. I'd be OK with Zucker as long as they don't give him a contract and pay him like they expect him to produce 25 goals the next 2 years. But there has to be a change someplace. If you keep Zucker and Greenway, the move at least 2-3 other forwards that are currently on the team. Edited March 7 by mjd1001 Quote

sodbuster Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 I hope this isn't the "big" thing that Adams was working on. Quote
Thorner Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 Not enough to make me think Adams is necessarily locked in for next year. I’ll hold out hope Quote
shrader Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 Please let this be the start of moving towards no longer being the youngest team every year. 4 Quote
Thorner Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 Button says the sabres moves are devoid of all logic 2 Quote
thewookie1 Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 Fair contract, obviously though we take flak from the media regardless however Quote
rickshaw Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 TSN absolutely roasting the Sabres. saying trade him? Get a pick and re-sign. It’s not working, they keep the same players. Etc Quote
dudacek Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 I would have choked on 3x$6. This goes down better, but we're still getting fooled by an outlier year amplified by the mess around him. My hot take is he will not live up to this contract: 30-something points next year and an afterthought the year after. 1 1 Quote
... Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 This is a pretty good deal. Still has to replace Cozens, Power, and Muel. Quote
Warriorspikes51 Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 the guy gives more effort than pretty much anyone else on the roster happy with this 3 Quote

It’s a “best case scenario the deal and player/role asked of him (relative to winning) is reasonable” type deal. And the floor is lower Quote
JoeSchmoe Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 (edited) Screw what the talking heads are saying... This is great news! He's one of the few true vets in the room. He's one of our best PP guys and plays with heart. We need more Zuckers and less youth. Edit: Give him Samuelson's letter next year, and if we can get another guy like him give that guy Cozens'. Sidc3000 Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 Surprised that Zucker was willing to stay. Adams is keeping this train rolling with no light at the end of the tunnel. Ok Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 Well done Adams. Stability. Now if he could just improve the defense (and goaltending) and fire the bad coaches. 1 1 Quote

I’ll hold out hope Adams received authorization to spend some money at the deadline. It's also a doubling down on their "guys" not to mention with a little term. Then again it's Terry and this train has made some weird stops along the way these past 14 years. Most have gone off the rails. Quote
