Peterka to the Rangers?

The worst thing about this team is they got beat by San Jose at home who you are supposed to be ahead in the rebuild. They haven’t gotten better but gotten worse throughout the season.

So for me the only explanation to Peterka being in trade talks at all would be that Adams does not like his contract ask, the gulf is huge, and/or Peterka wants out. 

Now watch it'll be Rempe and a prospect 😉

Possibly K’Andre Miller maybe. For me it would have to be Gabe Perreault plus something else or no deal,

I can see why teams are interested in Peterka, but are there a reason why we would trade him?? He might deserve big money on his next contract, and there was talk about teams making an offersheet on him. However, that is not a reason to trade him.

How about Cozens for K’Andre Miller with other pieces from both teams to balance it out.

The best reason for trading Peterka would be the return. 

Unlike most Sabres his value is at its apex. Unlike most Sabres the return for him might actually help.

Also, he’s the best of the bunch, but JJ is also the type of player - smallish quick, skilled, defensively poor winger - we have too many of.

So yes, culture change.

Now if only I trusted Adams to get the proper return

Can you list other wingers the Sabres have who have the capability of scoring 25 goals every season? Just turned 23.  Can't wait to check back on this board when he scores 40+ in another uniform

Can you list other wingers the Sabres have who have the capability of returning a player or players in trade who can fix this mess?

I'm not advocating trading Peterka. I answered the question of why they might consider it.

But I certainly would trade him for the right return and I think he's one of the few Sabres who may actually be capable of generating one.

I think you nailed it.  He probably wants out but will stay for a Cozens type contract.  Peterka is the better player so why wouldn’t his agent push for it?  

Adam’s mistakes are coming back to haunt him.  The Cozens and Power contracts were huge mistakes made by a foolish person who had no business being an NHL GM.

My money is on the latter….GMKA may want him here, but JJP doesn’t….so Adams only wants guys who want to be in Buffalo.
