I just posted this link in another thread

Only way I'd due it if dump Samuellsson there with him or put a spin on another trade I mentioned earlier JJ with Power for Adam Fox and Alexis Lafreniere but even that I hate. As JJ one of few guys I love on this craptacular squad.

I have to believe part of the issue is that JJP has indicated to management that he won't resign with Buffalo (no matter what).  I don't have any proof, just a feeling.

Well Peterka doesn't have much of a choice; we own his soul for 2 or 3 more years no matter what

Perhaps, but sooner or later an RFA offer sheet tender will happen....why not one that impacts Buffalo?  Remember, GMKA only wants players who want to be in BUffalo.

Uhm...KA is really going to trade JJP? There is a small, very small, handful of players he could trade away and, by doing so, make the team even worse. JJP is one of those players.

JJP moving somewhere is no surprise; either via trade request or offer sheet that prompts a trade. All you have to do is tell Adams you don't want to be here.

I've asked before and I'd ask again: put on your player's hat. You have one chance at a career that could get injury-shortened in the blink of an eye. Why would you ever re-sign with this franchise?

(I do understand the star-level Eichel/Dahlin deals or a 4th line tweener signing here, but all the other good to very-good players can make millions anywhere else.)

Agreed, but JJP is still under the Sabres' control. KA's attitude is going to require case-by-case flexibility in order to not dig the hole even deeper. In a circumstance like this, JJP has to perform if he expects to one day sign a good contract on a good team.
