THG doesn't root for them per se but he sees them as kindred souls to his favorites, the Canucks, as they came into the league together.

Yeah, he's been pretty big about rooting for the Sabres to do well after years and years of wandering in the wilderness. He does a nice job of expressing our frustrations.
