Swordsman Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 Who knows at this point what is reality and what is wishful thinking in regards to the 04'-05' season BUT, if one believes the season will in fact be played, albeit in a very sprint-like fashion, the question for us Sabres' fans could be: Option 1 - Bring up Miller, Roy, Vanek, Pominville and possibly Janik right away to Buffalo in putting forth the best roster possible for the rushed schedule and hope they make a difference in the playoffs OR: Option 2 - Leave the aforementioned in Rochester to complete their development by possibly experiencing playoff success in the AHL, which would make them only better players for the full season in 05'-06'. A shortened season this year is more or less a throwaway anyway - any successful team in it will always be held apart from past or future winners by the bizarre nature this season came about (IF it does). As much as I would be tempted to go for the brass ring now and throw all caution to the wind, I think it is smarter fro Buffalo management to let the prospects in Rochester finish what they've built this year, experience some rewards from that with a possible championship and use it to come to NHL camp next year as matured, stronger players. Let the present Sabres' roster do what it can with this season. IF there is one..... Thoughts?
