LGR4GM Posted Tuesday at 01:55 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 01:55 PM It is Buffalo Bills night at the arena. First 10,000 fans get a squish the fish... fish ? idk something. I could look it up but frankly my dear, I don't give a damn. Sharks beat Toronto last night in a shootout so both teams will be sloppy and tired by the time the 3rd rolls around. The Sharks are a team I would expect to rapidly overtake the Sabres in the coming years as their rebuild won't take forever and they actually got top end offensive talent in the draft. Trade deadline is March 7 so we inch closer to that. Quote

Flashsabre Posted Tuesday at 04:06 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 04:06 PM (edited) Man as sad as it is to say this is a big game. A loss to the lowly Sharks will set the Sabres up nicely with a top 4 pick. Someone make it stop Edited Tuesday at 04:06 PM by Flashsabre 1 Quote

It must be nice to draft two centers back-to-back in the top-4, then have them both show lots of potential in their first full season, and knowing you'll have them for the next 10 seasons to build around..... Oh. Oh, damn. (And they have Dickinson and another top 3 pick [maybe, maybe 4th overall, if they get hot and Nashville stays awful] coming this summer.) Quote

Also they will draft Misa if they can as he plays with another prospect of theirs, Chyrnyshov. They also have Musty and Bystedt hanging around. Really... if I were going to trade Owen Power, the Sharks make a lot of sense. Quote

San Jose just beat Toronto, and 5 of their last 6 losses were only by one goal, meaning they can hang pretty well with teams (Including a 1-1 game vs Winnipeg, the best team in the league in regulation last week). So yeah, they are bad, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit of San Jose beat Buffalo. 1 Quote
CallawaySabres Posted Tuesday at 09:27 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 09:27 PM Can Nashville start winning already...We are doing our part with a nice 3 game losing streak. We can get this to 10 without blinking. Quote

jad1 Posted Tuesday at 09:47 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 09:47 PM Will there be any Bills players or coaches in attendance? They can treat it like a scared-straight intervention. Quote

gomper Posted Tuesday at 09:59 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 09:59 PM In a season of brutal reality checks, tonight maybe winding up the worst. Never would I thought I'd rather be in the midst of the Sharks rebuild instead of the Sabres. Right now I'd trade for that in a second. Season can't end soon enough. Quote

I don't even need to think about it, it's a no-brainer, any other team. We are a 2 player team with one semi star (Dahlin). We have no defense, no goaltending and a bunch of no-names on offense. 1 Quote

Do you realize that the VAST majority of professional hockey players have never played in a season where the Buffalo Sabres were playoff participants? So just how does this impact trying to sign veteran players that could make a difference here? The Sabres are not even in their thinking or consideration. Maybe Not ridiculous, but sad for sure. Chicago has the worst record in the NHL and I would trade rosters in a heartbeat. At least they have Hope and future to look forward to. Quote

Chicago had Bédard and nothing else.  We can piss on Buffalo all we want but there is enough talent on this roster to be playoff contenders with a couple moves. The problem is the front office either won’t or can’t make the moves to help the team get better. Im not defending that it is a great roster but it isn’t even close to the worst plus the Amerks are first OA in the AHL with a ton of kids playing well. There are pieces here the front office has failed to put them together into a competent team. 2 Quote
