Sure it’s a different voice. Yes, Granato was in 'in house' hire than ended up being better than who he replaced. But I think/fear it will just be more of the same.  Not much will really change.

Agree they should look outside but Terry likes people he “knows”.  People that listen to him.  
 

So of the two insiders, Karmanos or Forton, I would pick Karmanos.  By far the only choice if he goes internal.

If Adams is fired I think there might be some hope depending on the hire. But if Adams is retained then Pegula has absolutely no desire to turn this around or to compete.

I would love to know where Ventura and this lauded Analytics group fit into all this because either they are being completely ignored or they are vastly overrated. 
 

They are desperate for a veteran NHL exec. Let’s just hope Pegula finally has the appetite for it.

The off-season really hinges on whether or not Adams returns.  I’m not optimistic on the roster issues being addressed properly if Adams remains in charge.

What do you want him to say? He has repeatedly said that as far as trades what he is looking for is to get back players that can help now. He's not looking for future assets for dealt players. I just don't see him making any major moves. Will there be any deals? Maybe, but if that happens, I don't see it having much immediate impact for the team. If there is a trade, I would put my money that it will involve Joki for a more defensive/defenseman. 

My ideal situation is for this current GM be replaced at the end of the season and a more equipped person to evaluate this current roster resulting in some modifications to this current imbalanced roster.

I can’t quote my post cause the search seems to be down currently but I agree, and in more ways than one. I’m not signing up for another Adams season unfortunately, if they bring him back

No, but they are assets that can be drafted and developed or bundled in a trade to upgrade talent.

The cost is strictly money, no existing assets. You only need to hit on one of these every once in a while to get an NHL player. Over the last 5 years of not doing this, they have passed on quite a few picks.

All of these things add up if you make decent decisions in roster building, which I am not going to get into.
