I’m not sure how at this point in our recent history anyone could say that. We are last place in the conference and laughably inept. We are the team everyone sees on the schedule and says they got an easy game.

Adams is going to sit on his hands. He might make a low level trade, if anything. He certainly won’t make any kind of trade that makes the Sabres a better team.

Every time they give some indication of possible forward progress, they quickly snuff it out with a couple of games where they revert to looking clueless, hopeless, and inept.

Sabres have given up 19 empty net goals (tie for the most in the NHL).   No matter who is the HC, this group is horrible with the man advantage.  Need guys with hustle and grit.  Ruff has to cut his losses and just play out the game even strength.  This is an aggravating assemblage of talent.

My buddy in Carolina asked me after the Canes game why they’re so bad. He’d been to other games in Colorado, Nashville, Minnesota and a couple others over the past 7 years or so, he’d never seen the Sabres lose but he’s aware they are always a non playoff team.

i didn’t have an answer for him. Wish I knew why they are not a good team over these years.
