There is no objective reason to keep him around. None. This roster is of his doing, has zero playoff berths in a league that 50% of the teams get in, and appears no closer than they were two years ago. Actually, they appear further away.

Question is - does Terry even care enough to fire his pool boy, or is Adams really good at selling him on a (never ending) process?

If I'm a betting man my money goes on no significant changes only because they've spent years convincing me they're not a serious hockey organization.

Agreed, they (owner/mgmt)  are not serious, at the very least clueless, at worst they are so dumb they can't recognize how inept they really are

Individually, I agree. But his complete inability to construct a cohesive roster is an utter failure on his part.

In reality, any deadline deals will likely be for futures anyway (yay), so doesn't matter a whole lot I guess...

Correct!  You can say McLeod, Byram and signing Zucker were all “good” moves, but the team is worse.  

Every team we were competing with to improve in the East (Det, Ott, Mon and even Philly) are all superior teams.  All have improved this season while the Sabres have taken another step back.

Exactly. I’ll keep saying it: “winning trades” is the province of rebuilding teams. “Winning games” is the province of good teams. Adams makes some good trades but clearly, as you point out, not by the prism of the construction of the whole. We are supposed to be measuring by results now, right? Evaluate trades (and lack there of) relative to the affect they had on winning or lack there of. Not purely through the context of asset comparison.

We got the better player in the Mitts trade but he didn’t improve the team and our center spline got worse.

So let's say Adams IS actually fired prior to the deadline...who is in charge of landing a replacement quickly enough and competent enough to better maximize any trades? Who's running the search and advising Terry? Isn't that conundrum at the core of the org's futility?

I guess Lindy would have valuable insights? Kind of like McDermott picking Beane after Whaley's removal (but more experience/potential connections in the league)? Might as well emulate the Bills model. What choice does Pegula have, other than doing nothing at all? 

Anyone ever perish the thought that the Amerks success this season is evidence that Adams HAS been fundamentally stocking the cupboards, despite continued futility at the NHL level? Like maybe 3-5 more years would produce an actual winning NHL on-ice product LOL.

That’s because the cap is going up, even in Vegas everyone I know that had season tickets including myself have given them up. It’s simply not worth it. The season ticket holders are losing money on games they can’t make.

Bad game between bad teams. Really sloppy at times. Neither team going to make the playoffs but I guess their rebuild is going faster than ours (if we are still in a rebuild it's hard to label any more).

Power is one lazy dude. I'm starting to really dislike him. 

I thought only Peterka and Greenway played well tonight. Maybe Dahlin. That's it.
