Derrico Posted February 27 Report Posted February 27 Just received an email for my STH renewal. Looks like a very small increase from last year but not by much. Still on the fence if I renew or not. Rates always go up but nice to see it wasn't a dramatic increase I suppose....Not going to make this a political thread but the thought of possible future border restrictions on Canadians and/or the state of the dollar is giving me the most hesitation to renew. I've never had full Sabres season tickets, only for the Bills in the past. For me, it would be about do you still enjoy going to the games? Is it worth the cost for what you are getting out of it? Every year we had Bills seasons tickets I thought of every reason to keep or not to keep them, but in the end it just came down to, did I like going? 2 Quote

I would think the 14 year drought would give people the most hesitation. lol 1 1 Quote

PromoTheRobot Posted March 1 Report Posted March 1 My decision to renew/not is more about circumstances beyond sports. Quote
tom webster Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 I’m going to renewal but it looks like one of the guys that buys ten of my games is out so I’ll be looking to replace them. i still enjoy the social aspect and the seats are too good to give up, at least at this point. Quote

Brawndo Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 I split season tickets that My Uncle has had since 1970. I am not a fan of Pegula at all, but I do like having dedicated outing with my teenage sons, so I will keep the tickets 2 1 Quote

It's not really a surprise. However, that's upsetting and sad. The owner should be ashamed of himself for how much this franchise has sunk during his ownership. Quote

Depends on whether you do the early bird renewal every year or not. If you do, it's ballpark a 5% increase (just like every other year) taking out the fact that they're selling 44 games (41 RS, 3 exhibitions w/ barely 50% NHLers playing) vs 43 (40/3) last year. Don't know if it'll be worth renewing but they were better this season about promoting the perks of being a STHer. Expecting that'll be the case again next year. Again, not sure that'd be enough to flip the switch from no to yes for anyone else. 1 Quote
Derrico Posted March 4 Author Report Posted March 4 I enjoy going with my wife and two sons. Even with the losing it’s a fun outing. Just sucks this political uncertainty. Small chance the border becomes closed or more difficult for those from southern Ontario to cross in the near future. Slim chance to be sure but still a hell of a lot higher than it was a few months ago. If not for that I would be leaning towards renewing. We will see what the next two weeks bring prior to early bird pricing deadline. 1 Quote
Derrico Posted March 15 Author Report Posted March 15 It's been a dream of mine to be a Sabres season ticket holder and I would have renewed again for next year if not for the political uncertainty. I've notified my ticket rep I won't be renewing my membership and hope the border continues to welcome fans from southern Ontario. Hopefully I will attend individual games next season. With so many fans who support the team from southern Ontario, I truly wonder what impact we're going to see to the season ticket base. 1 Quote

Yeah that’s a great point that really has to have the organization worried. Lets just hope if ST sales tank that they just don’t blame that instead of the putrid product on the ice 1 Quote
SabresBillsFan Posted March 15 Report Posted March 15 Is it cheaper to get tickets on game day rather then buying season tickets? Quote

I would love to say - Don't do it. Send a message to Pegula but it's really your personal choice. don't you live in Oshawa or something? That's a LONG freaking drive! Quote

Weekend games it’s cheaper for seasons, weekdays are way cheaper just buying through ticket master secondary market. Quote

I plan on visiting Vancouver and Victoria in June, and Southern Ontario in July-August. I love going to Canada. Quote
