Hate guys that score goals too

He hasn’t performed to my expectations, just like Cozens, Quinn and a host of others.  He’s still a boy and this team needs more men to be competitive next season.

Probably not winning tonight, but I'd like to see maximum effort these last 15 mins. We're gonna lose a bunch of games if what's left and that's fine, but I want to see indications of sustained forward progress. Everyone should be playing like their jobs depend on it.

Has a 28 goal season under his belt and is on pace for 25 this season.
just turned 22.  How possibly can you be tired of him already?

No doubt. Lots of other things to complain about with this team.

Simple…our top 6 is too young and inexperienced.  He’s part of that and might be one of our more tradable assets.  If he was the only one, then I would be more apt to keep him, but I’d swap him out for a more experienced and physical top 6 player.  Cozen’s contract works against a good trade and Quinn is severely underperforming.  JJP’s play has been Meh to me and he disappears for long stretches of time.

I think we would have liked to see him take a step forward to being a 30 goal scorer, especially after he started the year well. But, for being 22 I can't complain too much with his overall play.

I think, overall, he is one of the players this year that has contributed more to their wins than he has to their losses.

If you want this team to be better long term, you want more players like him, not less....despite him being a bit up-and-down this season.

So you want him to Play for someone else when he becomes a 30 to 40 goal scorer at 24 / 25 years of age?

Whalers getting away with a lot.  Ref put the whistle away.

Especially consider the call on Tuch to start the game.

J.J.Peterka has played the majority of his minutes this season with Either Tage Thompson or Dylan Cozens as his center.

With Tage Thompson as his center and Peterka on the ice, the team has a +22 goal differential this season.

With Dylan Cozens as his center and Peterka on the ice, the team has a -8 goal differential.

With Anyone else other than those 2 with Peterka, in limited minutes, the team has a +5 goal differential.

His production and overall play changes quite a bit depending who he shares the ice with.  As is the case with many players on this team, Peterka is a big time postive player for this team when not forced to share the ice with Cozens.

With 25 games left, even the best teams are gonna lose a bunch of games. I guess "a bunch" is nebulous, but if we lose 8...which is a "bunch" to me, that would be 17-8. Bottom line, expecting them to play like .800 hockey is unreasonable. They're going to lose games like everyone else...which is fine...I just want to see the effort and some indication that we are progressing.

If it means we get a bonafide top 6 forward who can help us immediately (presumably next season) who brings something we don’t have, then yes.  We’re not going to get much for Cozens, Quinn, etc, so you may have to give up quality to get quality.  I’m not saying he’s our worst top 6 player….that might be Cozens or Quinn, but I am saying we cannot come back next season with the same top 6 and expect to be much better.
