UPL had some tough stops to make. Β Tage and Dahlin were very good.Β Getting Greenway back helps. Β Losing Tuch is just bad luck, I hope he is ok.Β 1 Quote
JohnC Posted yesterday at 01:35 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:35 AM Some quick thoughts on this game: I thought Greenway changed the dynamic of his line and influenced the game. Not a dynamic player but strong, tough and smart. He was a factor on his line and in Cozens having a good game.Β The two big plays in this game was Greenway hanging on to the puck and moving to an open area and scoring early in the game. The second big play in this game is when Dahlin cleared the puck out of the goal area when UPL last sight of it behind him. There was a Ranger ready to pounce on the puck but Dahlin reacted first.Β Tage had a big game. His most impressive goal was when he was in tight quarters and muscled his way towards the net to score.Β I paid close attention to the Power/Samuel pairing. They weren't noticed because they were fundamentally doing their jobs. Samuelsson was solid.Β The defensive play of our forwards was excellent.Β On the broadcast it was mentioned that there were a number of scouts in the arena. My suspicion was the main center of attention was Cozens. I don't want him traded. If dealt, he will be another young Sabre player playing well for another team.Β I hope Tuch is not hurt too bad. The Zucker, McCleud and Tuch line is a tough manly line that can also give you some scoring.Β Dahlin is our best player and an elite defenseman. He deserves to have an opportunity to play in the playoffs.Β This was a good win in front of a capacity crowd. The Sabres have won 5 out of 6 games. That 13 game winless streak sunk this season. The Sabres should have had around 10 more points.Β What the return of Greenway demonstrated is that a veteran presence is invaluable.Β One game at a time. Let's go for 6 wins out of 7.Β Β 3 Quote

PerreaultForever Posted yesterday at 01:44 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:44 AM This reminded me of pummeling the Leafs the other year. This team has one of these offensive outburst games every now and again where they seem unstoppable but it's never lasted long before so likely doesn't now either. They are tooΒ far down for any of this to matter. Just going to make themselves and some fans think that everything's fine and just wait for next year.Β So enjoyable, but meaningless.Β 3 minutes ago, Stoner said: They closed the playoff gap from 14 to 11 points. Right now the Sabres have between 2-4 games in hand on every team above them. The wild card teams are pacing for 91 points. They need 39 points in 27 to get there. (.722) Just keep stacking wins. HumanSlinky39 Posted yesterday at 02:49 AM Report Posted yesterday at 02:49 AM (edited) Well this is a pleasant surprise. Put the phone away as the movie started with it 5-2 lead expecting to come out to a 6-5 loss or at best them holding on for a 5-4 squeaker, but looks like they were on the throttle in the 3rd with the lead for a change. Hope Tuch is okay. Always great to beat the Rags. On to the next one... Edited yesterday at 02:50 AM by HumanSlinky39 Quote
