There's no possible way we take Canada without a ground war, and I don't see that happening. Color me naive, YMMV.

An invasion of Canada would spark civil war in the United States. All you who read this should be condemning trump openly and loudly.
LGR4GM Posted March 13 Author Report Posted March 13 Any attempt to annex Canada by Trump should be declared a betrayal of the constitution. You either rise up against such a tyrant or become crushed under his boot. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trump-annexation-destabilizing-canada-1.7479890

I am sure there's some existential threat to the US that would justify the President to take military action without the input from Congress. Then again.. Congress might approve, the damn boot lickers they are.
LGR4GM Posted March 14 Author Report Posted March 14 (edited) https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-quest-conquer-canada-confusing-everyone-rcna195657 They are trying to normalize the idea that Canada is a threat so they can take them over by force. I want you all to stop for a second and read the statement from Carney because it is how all of Europe feels as well. Americans are no longer trusted. "Well, I think Canada is a neighbor," White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a Tuesday briefing. "They are a partner. They have always been an ally. Perhaps they are becoming a competitor now." "These are dark days — dark days brought on by a country we can no longer trust," PM Carney said. "We are getting over the shock — but let us never forget the lessons. We have to look after ourselves and we have to look out for each other." Edited March 14 by LGR4GM
Hank Posted March 15 Report Posted March 15 Interesting read. Don't agree with him, but Interesting none the less. https://jeffreycarter.substack.com/p/the-tariff-game
LGR4GM Posted March 18 Author Report Posted March 18 I think we're going to see an executive order that classifies fentanyl as so dangerous the US can use military force to stop it. This gives pretext for a military intervention in Mexico and Canada.
LGR4GM Posted March 21 Author Report Posted March 21 Trumps continued attacks on Canadian sovereignty are un-American. Any attempt by Trump to annex Canada will be an open declaration of war. If you're not calling your reps over this you should be ashamed of yourself. This is wrong. It's naked imperialist fascism. https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-says-nasty-canada-meant-51st-state-2046930
LGR4GM Posted March 24 Author Report Posted March 24 Greenland ain't putting up with Trump's naked imperialism. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c4g0718g3jwo Also, Trump has now suggested that NATO could help him "annex" Greenland. How long does Trump wait until he decides the military solution is the best solution.

I'd rather not get to that point to find out, that's for sure.

It is estimated that a 10% loss in Canadian tourism could coats $2.1b in revenues and upward of 14,000 jobs. I think it’s gonna be much more than a 10% as the numbers roll in month to month.

If it drags on long enough, I do believe the Sabres will be in jeopardy of leaving.

I don’t know about being in jeopardy of leaving, but you’re point is a good one. Canadians represent 7-10 percent of the season ticket base for the Sabres and 10% for the Bills. Canadians also do a decent amount of single game ticket purchases for both teams as well; something we’ve seen for years.
