A respite is a good thing. Watching a Sabres game is a recipe for agitation. Avoidance can have a medicinal effect. 🙃

USA has such a good mix of rugged, fearless players with more than enough snipers. Also have the best goalie. Not surprised with the results. 

Yes, I'm well into my 60's and just hope I see the Sabres rise from the ashes. Currently await new front office leadership but Pegula sits on his hands.

No team owes me anything for my blind loyalty. That's sports..yet sometimes organizations embrace stupidity over success for some bizarre reason.

What kills me is in the big picture, Pegula only needs to put in a few more resources (like proven NHL Execs in the FO), to get a lot better performance from his hockey organization.   You would think he would want playoff revenue? 

His team is far down the curve to excellence but the gains that take you to the middle of the pack and a wildcard team level should be easy to get, which is why no other teams are even close to 14 year droughts.  It's the last 10 percent that is hard.   (Example: Florida won President Trophy and then died in the playoffs, so they retooled with a major trade for Tkachuk and won a cup).  

I think the right hockey guy could get this team to respectable levels quickly.  Instead we have Adams and a bunch of excuses.   His the end of season presser it will be interesting to me.

Finland played really bad for 55 minutes, and still could have tied the game. Disappointing misstakes that caused turnovers. The Canadians are way too good to play sloppy hockey against.

In his prime he sang beautifully and in multiple registers and could really hit high notes.  I thought he did great for an 82 year old man.

Thursday should be a heck of a hockey game. Pity the goaltending isn't even as that might be the deciding factor. Otherwise it should be something to see. 

Watching Bennett and Marchand as linemates is so weird after last year's playoff punch but that's hockey.

Yeah, his voice sounded every bit of his 82 years, but it made no difference to my ability to enjoy it and his instrumentals were great. We’re lucky he’s still able to get out there because he is in the autumn of life and who knows how many revolutions he has left. 

Back on topic, if Thursday is half as good a game as Saturday’s was, we are in for a helluva hockey treat.

Oh no it was awful, as was Paul Simon opening. I get the nostalgia but sometimes you need to recognize when it's over. It's long past over. 

What I found weird was Miley Cyrus singing a Sinead O'Connor song. Wasn't O'Connor banned from SNL for ripping up the picture of the pope? So was that a oops sorry to her memory or something? Seemed like an odd choice.
