The urge to snooze will come a lot quicker. 😀 But my options are limited to a movie or a kickass hockey game. The sabres are off for 2 weeks... What a treat for us! Quote

Night Train Posted Monday at 02:26 PM Report Posted Monday at 02:26 PM USA has such a good mix of rugged, fearless players with more than enough snipers. Also have the best goalie. Not surprised with the results. Yes, I'm well into my 60's and just hope I see the Sabres rise from the ashes. Currently await new front office leadership but Pegula sits on his hands. No team owes me anything for my blind loyalty. That's sports..yet sometimes organizations embrace stupidity over success for some bizarre reason. 1 Quote

What kills me is in the big picture, Pegula only needs to put in a few more resources (like proven NHL Execs in the FO), to get a lot better performance from his hockey organization. You would think he would want playoff revenue? His team is far down the curve to excellence but the gains that take you to the middle of the pack and a wildcard team level should be easy to get, which is why no other teams are even close to 14 year droughts. It's the last 10 percent that is hard. (Example: Florida won President Trophy and then died in the playoffs, so they retooled with a major trade for Tkachuk and won a cup). I think the right hockey guy could get this team to respectable levels quickly. Instead we have Adams and a bunch of excuses. His the end of season presser it will be interesting to me. 4 Quote

bunomatic Posted Monday at 08:49 PM Report Posted Monday at 08:49 PM Wow that empty net goal by Sid was great. Possibly saved their bacon on that play. 1 Quote
SabreFinn Posted Monday at 08:56 PM Report Posted Monday at 08:56 PM Finland played really bad for 55 minutes, and still could have tied the game. Disappointing misstakes that caused turnovers. The Canadians are way too good to play sloppy hockey against. Quote

JujuFish Posted Monday at 09:19 PM Report Posted Monday at 09:19 PM After seeing it was 4-0 with under 10 to go, my hopes of Sweden squeaking into the finals ended, but dang Finland almost forced OT. 1 Quote

PerreaultForever Posted Monday at 11:24 PM Report Posted Monday at 11:24 PM Thursday should be a heck of a hockey game. Pity the goaltending isn't even as that might be the deciding factor. Otherwise it should be something to see. Watching Bennett and Marchand as linemates is so weird after last year's playoff punch but that's hockey. Quote

Not surprising. Yeah, his voice sounded every bit of his 82 years, but it made no difference to my ability to enjoy it and his instrumentals were great. We’re lucky he’s still able to get out there because he is in the autumn of life and who knows how many revolutions he has left. Back on topic, if Thursday is half as good a game as Saturday’s was, we are in for a helluva hockey treat. 1 Quote

I get the nostalgia but sometimes you need to recognize when it's over. It's long past over. What I found weird was Miley Cyrus singing a Sinead O'Connor song. Wasn't O'Connor banned from SNL for ripping up the picture of the pope? So was that a oops sorry to her memory or something? Seemed like an odd choice. Quote
