more Canadian anthem stuff.  The singer is Canadian and she changed a lyric to mean something that seems very odd to me.  From a musical perspective, I don’t think she did a good job at all.

I’m not messing with anything.  Just posted something that was talked about here, specifically how the anthem words were changed around 1980, and again more recently.

I think it was trolling Trudeau more so than threatening.  Regardless it did add to the environment and made for great entertainment.

I don't like the trolling.  Especially of a good neighbor and a friend.   The USA could not get a better neighbor than what we already have. 

The hockey was going to be great entertainment without the Trump trolling.  The teams were going to be fired up no matter what.  

Trump could have gotten help at the boarder, if this is really all he wanted, with a simple private call and a meeting to negotiate an agreement that benefits both countries.  He could play hardball in the conference room if need be, not on the world stage and not by saying ridiculous things.    Grandstanding in the media to fire up a base that is already loyal to him is a bad tactic that leads to poor policy.   

I better stop here.

You can call it bigger than Hendersons if you want, too: you’d still be wrong. You are in the vast, VAST minority. Crosby’s is considered bigger, but you don’t agree personally. That’s ok!

In 2010 we were still vastly better than the USA and fully expected to win.   
our defence was Daughty, Keith, Pronger, Niedermayer, Weaber and Seabrook. 
the centre spine was Crosby, Bergeron, Toews, Thorton and Getzlaf 

USA had nothing in comparison at that time.   

This time , there would be an arguement of which team was better on paper and we had the threat of economic war hanging overhead.

You are focusing too much on USA specifically. Canada was coming off a loss in 2006 in Turin, we had to re-prove against everyone. Canada won the most recent best on best headed into 4 nations

look, if this was the biggest goal ever for you - all power to you. It was great, the tournament was really fun. Me thinks we are starting to conflate the 4 nations coming in well ahead of expectations with being the Olympics. Maybe the 4 nations becomes the premiere tournament one day, but it has a long ways to go. It may never be played again. Again, it was only 4 teams. That alone gives the Olympics a level of prestige

I will say the Crosby goal was a FAR bigger dagger to my American (but very respectful of Canadians) heart. Ryan Miller willed that team to the Gold Medal game. He was brilliant. Everyone knew the US had no business being in OT for the Gold without Miller. To see it end sorta casually with a funny shot from a weird angle was devastating. 

I think knowing the US blew their one chance made it worse. I feel like the US will be a factor in the medal rounds of international hockey far more frequently going forward.

Yeah that sucked pretty bad. One of the worst renditions of the anthem I’ve witnessed.

I’m not, that’s what has me placing the goal as high as I am tbh, as manufactured as a lot of that controversy was. I think I just ranked it 5th - not bad for a tournament that was a non entity almost no matter who you asked, 2 weeks ago

Interesting that the article calls it "botched" when it was a deliberate change. Agree with it or not is your choice but it wasn't "botched", she changed it to ONLY US command as an obvious message. This is the first place I've seen it viewed negatively. It's gotten positive reactions overall.
