1 Sabres player in this whole tournament, we truly are the bottom of the barrel. 

I am looking forward to seeing all these stars together but would have preferred both Tkachuks on the same line.

I'm still wondering if this will be a serious tournament or just a new type of allstar game. Guess we will find out soon enough.

Dumb tournament without some of the best in the world... Kucherov, Vasilevskiy, Sergachev, Malkin, Ovechkin, etc.. 

And no Caps in the tournament even though they're the top team in the league?   OK  NHL. 

If it's not best-on-best it's meaningless.

I am pretty excited for this tournament, but a bit upset with the week it is played on.

A problem I have that maybe other don't....one of the few other sports I follow is Nascar. Not a HUGE fan, but I used to live in Daytona so I love watching everything leading up to the Daytona 500 this week. 

-The first game of the tournament is at the EXACT time as Daytona Poll Qualifying on Wed

-USA vs Finland on Thursday is the exact time the Daytona Duel races occur

-2 games on Saturday going pretty much up against the Daytona Xfinity and Arca season openers

So yeah, probably not a big deal for most, but it kinda screws up my optimal viewing schedule (Not to even mention Valentines day weekend where my wife wants to spend some time with me, and possibly going to see a movie sometime this weekend also)

I know the reason why for no Russian team..the politics of it....but any tournament like this without Russia just seems lacking something major.

Kaprizov (if he were available) is one I'd want to see in this tournament for sure, added to your list.

And of course, Pastrnak, Necas, Draisaitl, Stutzle, Hischier, Roman Josi...and others.

Having Russia in a tournament like this would make it so much more interesting.

As for the rest of the world?  I know a 'world' team doesn't really give the other players much to 'play' for as far as national pride...but how about a 'world' team where the uniforms are the same but they get to wear a crest or a log representing their home country?

Anyone have the breakdown of how many players are in this from every nhl team?

It looks like there are a ton of lightning players.  And that's not even counting their 2 best players.. kucherov and vasilevskiy.  It would be unreal if they miss the playoffs this year with that much talent

Who cares? I'm going to watch the ***** out of this and nothing any crusty whiner says is going to take away my enjoyment of it.

You know what was meaningless?… the NHL going to Connor McDavid and asking him to come up with a way to spice up the All-Star game with a competition that he would win. Now that was stupid. FTR, I absolutely loved when Kucherov set his controller down and everyone got on him for not caring. But Buble on mushrooms was hilarious.
