Stoner Posted Monday at 07:13 PM Report Posted Monday at 07:13 PM I'm seeing clips of Chiefs fans crying, holding their heads and the like. Can we even imagine how this is possible? If the Sabres ever won ONE Cup, my school's out forever. They can lose every game thereafter. I will be in Bora Bora. 1 Quote
Weave Posted Monday at 07:22 PM Report Posted Monday at 07:22 PM It mist be nice to have expectations so high. Not really. Get a grip. It’s ***** entertainment. Quote

CallawaySabres Posted Monday at 08:19 PM Report Posted Monday at 08:19 PM I'll take just being interested in February at this point. Playoffs, the Cup, all that stuff is YEARS away. Quote

I lived in Boston in the last 1990's and early 2000s. I wasn't a Red Sox fan, but the angst they had was, like nothing I have ever seen. Funny thing, once they won the World Series, a lot of the people I worked with had a lot less interest in the team after that. I mean, sure they were fans, but my entire work career with them in the late 90's and early 2000's, it was Red Sox all the time, non stop, everyday talking about them. Once they won a world series...it was quite a step down. Its like their 'fandom' went from something of an obsession to just something normal. I would think after you won 1 or 2 titles behaving like you mentioned, it just wouldn't happen as much. Edited Monday at 09:40 PM by mjd1001 Quote

Thorner Posted Monday at 09:48 PM Report Posted Monday at 09:48 PM I just saw a list recently for “most tortured fanbases” and the Sabres lost out in round two, to the Leafs. I get that the disappointment is relative, but having been through both types of situations, being a Sabres fan is orders of magnitudes worse, obviously without being through it, there’s just a lack of wisdom there. They don’t understand - they are feeling the inverse of joy: we feel endless neglect. It’s way, way worse It’s supposed to be about balance, all things in life 1 Quote

shrader Posted Monday at 10:16 PM Report Posted Monday at 10:16 PM Screw that. I can’t even imagine the first two steps prior to that stage. Quote

My guess is they bet on the outcome and these days they probably bet on how many yards Mahomes would pass for and they probably lost their houses. Worst part of the superbowl was listening to Brady go on and on repeatedly about how hard it was to lose to the Giants. Poor Tom 🙂 Quote
DarthEbriate Posted Tuesday at 12:59 AM Report Posted Tuesday at 12:59 AM Was I devastated that Return wasn't as good as Star Wars or Empire? No, no I wasn't. The end wasn't everything. It was about the Ewoks we met along the way. Plus, Paploo rode a speeder and the music was lovely. 1 1 Quote
K-9 Posted Tuesday at 01:43 AM Report Posted Tuesday at 01:43 AM The opportunity to make history like the Chiefs had last night doesn’t come along often, if at all. It’s understandable why Chiefs fans may feel so miserable about it. Quote

kas23 Posted Tuesday at 01:42 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 01:42 PM At the end of the 4-peat, I was numb. No crying. Quote
LTS Posted Tuesday at 01:51 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 01:51 PM I can imagine being upset that my team lost. I can imagine also putting that in context of life and saying, at least they won twice in a row. I can't imagine being "devastated" although hyperbole seems to be the way of the world these days. Criticizing Chiefs fans for how they feel is just being bitter about your own team's failures. Meh. There's zero doubt in my mind that if the roles were reversed those there'd be no difference in reaction from people. The KC fans would be commenting on how "How can Bills fans be devastated and complain about losing when they've won 2 in a row before this?" Blah. We need to stop trying to live in everyone else's house. 1 Quote
SwampD Posted Tuesday at 02:01 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 02:01 PM My guess is that they only became fans after the first SB win, so this is their first SB loss. They can suck it. Quote
JP51 Posted Tuesday at 02:14 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 02:14 PM Great question... my only answer is ... ask me when I am in that position... cause now... I dont even know how I would react if we won 1... Quote

Not a single mention of the team prior to that. 1 Quote
