Disappointing after a few days off.

Ruff calling for the practice skate this morning to get their compete up didn’t pay off.

Might have if UPL didn’t have an off night.

Wow, bad to non existent defensive coverage in that one. I guess the pushing and shoving was to show they aren't soft after the NJ debacle so I guess that's good in a way. ROR loving his hockey still I see. Vacation time for mostΒ  of them. Season is over. Trade deadline next.Β

Has anyone found a good view of the offside goal? I still only have seen the picture that shows Krebs over the line but the puck is not visable

Nashville broadcast showed it and it wasn’t even close. Β You can see it on ESPN + if you don’t live in WNY. Β The puck hits board first then doesn’t touch ice until it was close to the faceoff dot. Β I questioned how they could make a decision so quickly but after seeing it, it’s quite evident.Β

The officials did.

Regarding pulling the goalie, my wife asked me last night β€˜Why do they keep doing that? It never works’. A team that is bad with the man advantage and awful at possessing the puck. In a more congested O-zone. What can go wrong?

This one doesn’t count for the 30in a row. The streak is still alive.Β

Big Balls deleted it. Like it never even happened. Plantation? What plantation?

Sure they did, I want legitimate proof they didn’t just assume it and take away a nice goal because it β€œlooked” offside. Rather tired of controversy this past month

Why would they do that?

TT looked lethargic all night without the puck. Β Looked slow and gassed. Β Maybe needed more time off. Β
Β

Bad passing and lost puck battles all around. Lindy pulling the goalie behind by one - forget what the book says you have enough empirical data this season to say this won’t end well. Β Quite the regression from the last few games.Β

I am a little surprised at the anger here after this game. Β I mean, I just figured that most of the regulars know who this team is. Β

I didn’t get to watch but the result does not surprise me at all. Β The Sabres were due to lose, and Nashville due to win. Β It happened. Β I never expected a veteran team to lose to Buffalo last night. Β

The four game win streak was nice, but the Sabres are a bottom 5 team so I expect them to go back to their bottom 5 W/L pace. Β

After the break the games will be more intense and mean something for most of our opponents. Β Keep your expectations for the rest of this season in check. Β
Β

BN rumor is that Greenway wants to come back. Β  The Adams overpay is forthcoming. Β

I agree with your premise about expectations in general Punch. But last night taken in isolation I expected a young Sabres team to beat a bunch of 30-something’s playing on a back to back. But as often the case the Sabres beat themselves last night.

I guess old legs and wise brains are better than young brains and legs. Someone pass along the memo to KA.

UPL always seems to struggle after a lay off. Β  This 2 week break isn't going to do him any goodΒ

From looking at the replays it appears they beat themselves. Β  They played catchup all game, UPL was not sharp, Thompson appeared slow and off pace, the defense was leaky in front of their net, and then the unfortunate disallowed goal that happens to bad teams quite often Β

I think Benson has had several goals overturned this season.Β

The sequence where O’Reilly single handedly dared us to try and advance the puck and we had no takers hopefully gets fixed in the off season. Β We need puck carrying centers! Β Lots of hot potato going on.Β

How often do the Sabres take advantage of another teams perceived fatigue? Β Seems like they lose just as much as they win or more in those situations.Β
