Believer Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 Disappointing after a few days off. Ruff calling for the practice skate this morning to get their compete up didnβt pay off. Might have if UPL didnβt have an off night. Β Quote
PerreaultForever Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 Wow, bad to non existent defensive coverage in that one. I guess the pushing and shoving was to show they aren't soft after the NJ debacle so I guess that's good in a way. ROR loving his hockey still I see. Vacation time for mostΒ of them. Season is over. Trade deadline next.Β 1 Quote

thewookie1 Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 Has anyone found a good view of the offside goal? I still only have seen the picture that shows Krebs over the line but the puck is not visable Quote

Β You can see it on ESPN + if you donβt live in WNY. Β The puck hits board first then doesnβt touch ice until it was close to the faceoff dot. Β I questioned how they could make a decision so quickly but after seeing it, itβs quite evident.Β Quote
CallawaySabres Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 I didnβt watch the game, but the sad thing is, if they had won this one, it actually wouldβve made the next one interesting. Β season over again π 2 Quote
Pimlach Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 Missed the game. Β They were due to lose one. Β I did notice the top line finished -4, and former Selke winner ROR had 4 assists. Β Β Β Quote

shrader Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 This one doesnβt count for the 30in a row. The streak is still alive.Β Quote
JustOneParade Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 Regarding pulling the goalie, my wife asked me last night βWhy do they keep doing that? It never worksβ. A team that is bad with the man advantage and awful at possessing the puck. In a more congested O-zone. What can go wrong? 1 3 Quote

CallawaySabres Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 Was there any doubt that a team on a 7 game losing streak was going to make The Sabres their bit*# Β I mean, this team NEVER fails to disappoint π 1 Quote
Mr Peabody Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 TT looked lethargic all night without the puck. Β Looked slow and gassed. Β Maybe needed more time off. Β Β Bad passing and lost puck battles all around. Lindy pulling the goalie behind by one - forget what the book says you have enough empirical data this season to say this wonβt end well. Β Quite the regression from the last few games.Β 1 Quote
Pimlach Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 (edited) I am a little surprised at the anger here after this game. Β I mean, I just figured that most of the regulars know who this team is. Β I didnβt get to watch but the result does not surprise me at all. Β The Sabres were due to lose, and Nashville due to win. Β It happened. Β I never expected a veteran team to lose to Buffalo last night. Β The four game win streak was nice, but the Sabres are a bottom 5 team so I expect them to go back to their bottom 5 W/L pace. Β After the break the games will be more intense and mean something for most of our opponents. Β Keep your expectations for the rest of this season in check. Β Β BN rumor is that Greenway wants to come back. Β The Adams overpay is forthcoming. Β Β Β Edited February 11 by Pimlach 3 Quote
LabattBlue Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 The dive to keep the puck in was a really low IQ play by TT. Β There were 40 seconds left. Β Even if the puck left the zone, you would still have possession. Β Quote
JustOneParade Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 I agree with your premise about expectations in general Punch. But last night taken in isolation I expected a young Sabres team to beat a bunch of 30-somethingβs playing on a back to back. But as often the case the Sabres beat themselves last night. I guess old legs and wise brains are better than young brains and legs. Someone pass along the memo to KA. 1 1 Quote

Β They played catchup all game, UPL was not sharp, Thompson appeared slow and off pace, the defense was leaky in front of their net, and then the unfortunate disallowed goal that happens to bad teams quite often Β I think Benson has had several goals overturned this season.Β Quote
Mr Peabody Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 The sequence where OβReilly single handedly dared us to try and advance the puck and we had no takers hopefully gets fixed in the off season. Β We need puck carrying centers! Β Lots of hot potato going on.Β Β 1 Quote
