I think if a player fails his end of the year physical, they cannot be bought out per the CBA as you cannot buy out an injured player.

The next time he would have a scheduled physical would be in September.

One of the CBA experts can maybe weigh in.

It’s probably a moot point either way

I wouldn't piss on this team if it was on fire.

He’s 5’9”

He was 5’9 in college when he lead his team to a National Championship. He’s 5’9 in Rochester where is their best dman. Talent needs a chance. What does it hurt to bring him up? Will it stunt their playoff hopes?

I mean the 6'6" defender we have doesn't "clear the crease"

Point taken. I have no problem with Metsa but they should get Bryson off the team.  Especially considering the makeup of the rest of the D core.

two things:  1.  metsa would have to be signed to an nhl contract, he's currently on a one way contract in the ahl.  they ought to do this IMO and give him a shot eventually when one of the more offensive dmen goes down

2.  with that being said, i'm not sure metsa is the ideal candidate to replace samuelsson.  he doesn't play the sort of game that I think they would need from someone replacing samuelsson.  to be fair, i'm not sure samuelsson has that game either

Exactly.   The concept of Samuelsson.

I'm 100% on board bringing up Novikov to see what he has to offer. +42 in 2 seasons, putting up decent points and from what I can see in a few very pixelated highlights he looks like he's at least becoming sound defensively but this GM will probably never bring this guy up since it makes too much sense.

I get it.
He has been steady eddy here in ROC. But I would prefer to continue for him to marinate here. At some point, this franchise needs to develop guys properly and throwing ANOTHER kid into The Show to see what happens is not the correct decision.

I believe he’s better off in the A as long as possible.

Does it hinder his development to bring him up for a few games? If so, how?

One would think Samulsson would at least fake being healthy, just so we could trade him to a better team. Not only is he worth a bag of pucks, he’s just as smart as said pucks.

Bryson is consistent and a perfect 7th D. I don't see many ppl scoring because he's 5'10"

Again, size doesn't equal toughness or tenacity. Strbak, Novikov, Komarov are all big but also tough/ physical.  I would prioritize the toughness part before the size part, but Jerry Forton won't, I'm sure of that.

Nah, he'd be fine. He's played like 4 pro seasons at this point so he's just gonna keep trucking.

The Sabres need a longer term answer than a few games.

I agree but that person isn't currently on our roster and it doesn't look like Adams is in any hurry to find that so I'd rather see what he can do.

I bet Adams plan is to wait on 1 of Kleber, Strbak, Komarov, McCarthy. That gives him his tough stay at home right hander. He's not pro-active enough.

Waiting on yet another young dman to crack the lineup, I wonder if Adams' job is really in jeopardy because he acts like he has all the time in the world.

No one but fans have questioned his job status.

This is sad to think about 5 years into a GM’s rebuild. I want one or two of those kids to become what we hope for but KA seems to have the same sense of urgency as Power lugging the puck up with 18 seconds left on PP2.

Which is it - the Sabres keep rushing young players into the lineup too quickly, or if he doesn't get the youngsters into the lineup now he's lacking a "sense of urgency"? It's hard to keep up with which way the wind is blowing today.

I think you may have mis-interpreted the post above you quite badly.
