SABRES 0311 Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 It’s a rumor until it’s not. I think two As are enough for a team. TT and Tuch I understand but not really Cozens or Muel. Quote
ShadowOnTheDoor Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 Samuelsson had no business being anywhere near a letter from the start. It was undoubtedly a ploy to justify that contract. It's easily the most egregious move Adams has made. Adams got sucked in by contracts for guys like Siegenthaler and Fehérváry. Quote

Lays his body on the line with a punishing physical game. Then sits out a couple to recover. OK, not really that physical and the ratio is more like 1:1. He is supposed to be the glue guy, probably because he is the most familiar with glueing his pieces back together. Quote

The gall of this team to start winning when we want them to lose! 1 Quote

I mean, that is just silly. Even the team that wins the Cup will lose 3-4 in a row. If we think (or know) players don't want to come here now ... wait until the team starts stripping letters over a 4 game losing streak, lmao. 12 hours ago, Pimlach said: Can you review the changes the team tried to make and fill us in on the results. 12 hours ago, Demoted said: It kind of has to work for people to care. I have been only able to read SS in chunks this week due to travel for work and when you read 2-3 pages of 3-4 threads in chunks, most of them come off as manic and a bit schizophrenic. There are plenty of "they need to do something, ANYTHING" comments (not necessarily from you two, specifically), so I think you have to see a wee bit of humor in "well, not THAT!" 🙂 Quote

I don't blame the kid for the Sabres bad decisions. Muel gets a big contract after 57 games, Power gets a big contract after 88 games, Cozens same thing - all of it is turning out to be too much too soon. This falls on the GM. I am in Buffalo for a few weeks. Was listening to WGR 550 this morning and Paul Hamilton commented on the negative reactions around the league to the Tage no response. A lot of this falls Muel who wears the "A". He said he does not see the A being removed this season, but he also does not see this kid recovering from this in Buffalo and will probably will be moved at some point. It is just more disfunction that reflects poorly on the franchise and makes it harder to rebuild. Edited February 7 by Pimlach 2 Quote

I also dont think when you are at his stage of a career, you grow a set miraculously... I think it is who he is and clearly a leading indicator of all that is wrong with this team... dont tell me Adams wants to get tougher and harder to play against when he throws letters on 2 of our biggest players physically and smallest players grit wise... thats who he picked to lead... they lead... we are here... time to go for some of them... 1 Quote

Stoner Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 So he failed to respond to Tage hit and within minutes suffered a season ending injury? Quote

I was talking about the big contracts given to young players, such as Muel, Power, and Cozens, and all of it happened before Lindy. You keep asking about Lindy. My full evaluation of Lindy comes after the season. I have commented on him in other threads, this thread is not the correct one to delve deeper into Lindy. Bringing Lindy into this thread topic - At this point, with 29 games remaining I don't see that the coaching change did much to improve the play, or the confidence, of either Muel or Cozens. I heard Hamilton say this morning that Adams gave out the C and the A's. I have no idea if Lindy had input but to me four A's was excessive. Quote

It appears that he got hurt after the failure to respond. As far as a season ending injury, I don't know what to believe on that. To be fair, during the third period Alamo he may have got hurt blocking a shot. He is credited with 7 blocked shots and 3 hits that game. So he could have got hurt late in the game. Quote

I get a sense that fans hold him blameless because he's an icon. Quote

I am trending to your thought in bold, especially since confirming that the hiring of Lindy was orchestrated before the "exhaustive coach search". I was not thrilled with him this season, even before of the Tage incident, and I was warned about what he was inheriting. I do like him and appreciate his work for the Sabres in past years. Quote
