LGR4GM Posted February 15 Report Posted February 15 (edited) They aren't saving us a penny. They are going to destroy everything by cutting funding and then will use a congressional process to use those cuts to give massive tax breaks to billionaires. We'll never see a dime imo. Hank Posted February 16 Report Posted February 16 I don't live in New York, is the DMV really giving drivers licenses to illegal immigrants?

I believe the rationale is it helps them get and stay employed. “Employed” being the operative word. The major flaw in our ability to control illegal entry into the country has been our refusal to go after the employers who give illegal immigrants jobs. Jobs, btw, that have shown over and over to be jobs that most Americans find undesirable. If we spent half the time going after employers hiring illegal immigrants than we do elsewhere, much of the issue would be under control. But I think we all know why that won’t happen, which I why I think this issue has always been about dividing the electorate more than anything else.
LGR4GM Posted Monday at 12:47 AM Report Posted Monday at 12:47 AM How does this make the government more efficient? Sounds like a way for Musk to gain access to critical tax documents he weaponize to hurt his critics and competitors.
LGR4GM Posted Monday at 01:02 AM Report Posted Monday at 01:02 AM Meanwhile Trump is wasting millions in tax payer money so he can literally drive in circles:

Today I also understand that the DMV database is accessible to federal authorities with a warrant. Makes sense to me. Why would we want Musk and his henchmen to access DMV information unfettered?

Makes sense to me. Why would we want Musk and his henchmen to access DMV information unfettered? They are about to have every single tax document and ssn of every American in the United States. How that helps them with government waste is... well it doesn't. This isn't about waste it is about data mining and business profits. Musk wants leverage and insider info to get ahead and make more money because his insatiable greed is all consuming. Cutting programs he doesn't agree with along the way is just a bonus. They will cut what they don't like and funnel that money into things like Musk getting a deal for 400million worth of electric armored vehicles, something Tesla does not build currently.

Hank Posted Monday at 06:18 PM Report Posted Monday at 06:18 PM (edited) In denying the plaintiffs’ request for a restraining order, the judge noted that the plaintiffs failed to show a substantial likelihood of success on the merits of their claims, which centered on the idea that DOGE’s data access policies were illegal because they were implemented without proper rulemaking or legal authority. https://www.theepochtimes.com/us/judge-rejects-union-bid-to-block-doge-access-to-some-federal-agency-data-5810678?utm_source=Morningbrief&src_src=Morningbrief&utm_campaign=mb-2025-02-01&src_cmp=mb-2025-02-01&utm_medium=email&est=AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAceM4dwpahMPLzKoPtmpWRbd1xiQDb3kUvtLRGztEDsX37uQ%3D Edited Monday at 06:20 PM by Hank

LGR4GM Posted Monday at 11:29 PM Report Posted Monday at 11:29 PM Id bet money they used AI to compile their lists. They are too lazy and uncaring to do it any other way.
K-9 Posted Tuesday at 01:07 AM Author Report Posted Tuesday at 01:07 AM Regarding the DOGE Social Security “findings” they are full of crap as they have little understanding of the data programs they’re supposedly “analyzing.” And I doubt the SS system is the only one they lack sufficient knowledge of in order to make informed analyses. https://apple.news/AnhDth1ThT0Kgd6Pjgs6c8w
LGR4GM Posted Tuesday at 02:25 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 02:25 PM It is interesting how many IT firms are in that list that lost gov funding. I will wait to see this info analyzed and to see where this money ends up because taking it from here is one thing, where does it go is another. I think the other thing that is hard to tell right now is how much of an impact some of these cuts will have, I don't think you can label all of this as "waste" when the details on some of them are minimal.
