LGR4GM Posted March 14 Report Posted March 14 1 hour ago, Hank said: "That doesn't benefit anybody" DOGE cut NOAA, NWS, NASA, Parks Dept, USAID, Dept Ed, EPA which are all things that help a lot of people. Oh and they are gutting NIH and CDC. So... the right and musk fanboys keep trying to justify DOGE. I am unsure why but there is a correct way and an incorrect way to cut government waste and fraud. Elon Musk is not cutting waste and fraud. He is very clearly destroying agencies that monitor his illegal business practices, agencies that could help or are working with his competitors, and agencies that don't support his view on race. Musk isn't cutting these programs to get rid of waste, he is cutting them so he can pocket that money for himself when the programs that they run die and get replaced by lesser more expensive versions. The video above is a good example of using false equivalence to equate 2 things that are not the same. It is a tactic used primarily by authoritarian regimes. If anyone goes in depth on how Putin operates, he does this quite often. He will liken his actions to something that at a very surface level looks the same but in reality is not. Every politician since idk forever has talked about cutting wasteful spending (which is a pipedream because who gets to define "wasteful") but allowing an unelected Shadow President to simply take over any department he wants and do whatever he wants to it is not democracy, it is autocracy.

Hank Posted March 16 Report Posted March 16 Federal employees under contract are being fired under Trump and Fox News is the only network that is NOT outraged. Not one single document showing fraud, just a lot of "LOOK OVER HERE, I SWEAR IT'S FRAUD" and some people believe without any proof. Yet b/c the fake news is supporting Trump it's not "illegal" Still waiting for the 2020 election proof they promised and it never came. Still waiting for the Epstein files that were promised but never delivered b/c too many republican names were on it. Imagine believing things on twitter without proof of them happening. First, Hageman is a member of the freedom caucus which is right wing as right wing can get. Considering members of the freedom caucus are expressly loyal to Trump and touted his 2020 election lie, which is partially how Hageman was elected, I think we are still on decent grounds. Second, Hageman is saying that 80% of the funding for the department of ed is money laundered. If that were the case how come the republicans haven't shown proof or shown any interest in such a thing. They have controlled both the House and Senate but now all of sudden they found this out? Why now? Why doesn't she have proof? Where is the proof? Until she provides proof, I believe she is lying. 50 minutes ago, Demoted said: I would rather be shown the facts than believe anyone that uses twitter. Wall Street Apes is a far right social media profile that regularly amplifies conspiracy theorists such as the infamous Catturd and Dan Bongino who is now at the FBI because this is the dumbest timeline in the multiverse apparently. They are followed by Musk, Trump, James O"keefe etc... Skimming their posts it is literally a lickspittle account for Donald Trump. They also use lots of right wing tropes such as "being awakened" as though they are suddenly and magically aware of things the mythical others are not. This type of thing is used to justify the insane conspiracies that they are boosting. It works like this, they post something far right and then claim that it is true and that those who do not believe them are some how lesser. It works almost like reverse psychology because everyone wants to be in the know. They are possessors of "special knowledge" because they have "awoken" to the "truth" which allows them to be the arbiters of whatever that truth is and if you disagree you are a sheep (follower) or blind or liberal or stupid or ... whatever they want to use. It is a tactic used a lot in cults if you want to study up on those. Ironically they use the term awaken which is like saying woke, which as we all know has been coopted to mean "dumb liberal". The introduction here is a good starting point for understanding conspiracy theories: https://home-affairs.ec.europa.eu/networks/radicalisation-awareness-network-ran/publications/conspiracy-theories-and-right-wing-extremism-insights-and-recommendations-pcve-2021_en So between a freedom caucus member who ran on the grounds that trump was legally elected in 2020 and that Jan 6 was not an attempted coup (it was) to the fact the place she is saying all of this is without a doubt an actual lickspittle account for Donald Trump that traffics in the farthest right conspiracy theories we have, yea... I feel without proof that what Hageman has said here seems implausible and most likely is false. If she provides real proof in the future, I would be more than happy to reconsider my stance. SwampD Posted March 17 Report Posted March 17 (edited) The thing about the cuts is that they are not going line by line. They are hack and slay, slash and burn cuts with no thought whatsoever as to what they are cutting. I think the best thing about all the cuts is that all of these Trumpers, crying about abuse and waste are going to end up realizing just how important the federal is in their own lives. Hopefully they will stop crying about it going forward. Just wait until they start going after the VA and veterans' retirements. How else are they going to pay for Elon's next contract. LGR4GM Posted March 17 Report Posted March 17 (edited) Claim: "less than 25% goes to educating our students so where does the other 220 billion go. It goes to a bureaucracy, it goes to a consultant, and that consultant then donates money BACK TO DEMOCRATS" Facts: 160billion goes to the federal student loan program which is not democrats and not being laundered back to democrats. It is how most low income and at this rate "middle class" Americans afford the loans that allow them to go to college. So right here we have already proven this claim false. Let's keep going though. 20.5 Billion in Dept Ed money goes to k-12 schools primarily the poor ones to help them cover gaps in funding due to the fact if the students are poor, that means the property taxes are poor, which means the school is poor. This helps to get money to the lowest schools around and allow them to have services they would otherwise need to cut... maybe this is part of that 25% that makes up that 60million she claims actually goes to educating students... but I doubt that. There's 16.8 billion that goes to early intervention and support for students with disabilities. This includes 20million in funding to military schools for children with disabilities. There's 3billion for educator retention and leadership because quite frankly the nation is hemorrhaging teachers and leaders because education pays next to nothing in most places. 2.4 billion for technical and trade school training. 500 million for preschool and head start programs (ftr preschool and head start has a huge impact on student success). 16billion in direct grants to states for disability education initiatives (I suppose all those republican run states are giving this to democrats or something). 1.4billion for adult education grants also directly to the states. "The Budget includes both discretionary and mandatory funding that would make available $126 billion in new Federal student aid to help nearly 9 million students and their families pay for college." We got 3.9 billion for higher education At this rate we have accounted for... about 185 billion dollars that either goes directly to state education departments for specified programs or is the grant program that gives students their federal student loans. I suppose you could set up a massive fraud ring to get a lot of the student loan money and funnel into something else but man would that be work. You ever applied for student loans... that's a process. Idk, I am having a hard time finding the 220 billion this lady claims is going to consultants who are funneling it "back to Democrats". https://usafacts.org/explainers/what-does-the-us-government-do/agency/us-department-of-education/ https://www.ed.gov/sites/ed/files/about/overview/budget/budget24/summary/24summary.pdf Edited March 17 by LGR4GM 1

LGR4GM Posted March 17 Report Posted March 17 Who do we know that would have a vendetta against South Africa and specifically would want to side with White Landowners in South Africa... people who were directly impacted by Apartheid ending. I just can't think of anyone with ties to the US government who would be upset over that. Nope, not a soul. https://apnews.com/article/trump-south-africa-rubio-ambassador-musk-pollak-f8bad19709f437e4076fbb56ef94b9df Quote Trump falsely accused the South African government of a rights violation against white Afrikaner farmers by seizing their land through a new expropriation law. No land has been seized and the South African government has pushed back, saying U.S. criticism is driven by misinformation. The Trump administration’s references to the Afrikaner people — who are descendants of Dutch and other European settlers — have also elevated previous claims made by Trump’s South African-born advisor Elon Musk and some conservative U.S. commentators that the South African government is allowing attacks on white farmers in what amounts to a genocide. That has been disputed by experts in South Africa, who say there is no evidence of whites being targeted, although farmers of all races are victims of violent home invasions in a country that suffers from a very high crime rate.
