LGR4GM Posted February 18 Report Posted February 18 https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/doge/top-social-security-official-steps-disagreement-doge-sensitive-data-rcna192530 Quote Altman said some of the information involved in the dispute included Americans’ bank information, Social Security numbers, earnings records, marital statuses, dates of birth and, in some cases, medical records if people have applied for disability benefits. “She was replaced as acting commissioner because she would not give access to the sensitive information,” Altman said of King. “So she was replaced with someone who presumably will. But she was not forced to leave the agency. That was her choice. It was the White House’s choice to not let her be head of the agency anymore.” Explain to me why Elon Musk, a man I did not elect and has no Senate confirmation, is allowed to access my personal information. It isn't about government efficiency, it is about data mining and silencing critics. We are not on the cusp of a crisis, we are in free fall in the middle of a crisis. Quote In an interview with Fox News, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that Trump "has directed Elon Musk and the DOGE team to identify fraud at the Social Security Administration." She said that while the team had not "dug into the books," it suspected that widespread fraud was occurring. The SSA's inspector general released a report in July that found that from 2015 to 2022, only 0.84% of benefits payments were improper.

I will wait to see this info analyzed and to see where this money ends up because taking it from here is one thing, where does it go is another. I think the other thing that is hard to tell right now is how much of an impact some of these cuts will have, I don't think you can label all of this as "waste" when the details on some of them are minimal. On this we agree. I look forward/hope to details being made public.

So far everything, EVERYTHING, DOGE has “reported” and what their Congressional lackeys have trumpeted about SS has been wrong, if not a flat out lie.
LGR4GM Posted February 19 Report Posted February 19 DOGE again fires people they shouldn't. It's because they have no ***** clue what they are doing and are just running an algorithm to identify and fire ppl. If this happened under Biden, there would have been wall to wall coverage.
Hank Posted February 19 Report Posted February 19 People are always in favor of efficiency as long as it doesn't affect them.

LGR4GM Posted February 20 Report Posted February 20 Still waiting on DOGE to produce real receipts but thus far lots of ***** ups and lying about what they do find. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/doge/doge-days-musk-trump-tout-cuts-fraud-claims-are-debunked-rcna192217

LGR4GM Posted February 23 Report Posted February 23 Elon Musk is re-tweeting this the German Far Right party. "Take our country back" ... from whom? AfD party in Germany is not who you should support but Musk has made it pretty clear what he wants. Interesting how a guy who is from Apartheid South Africa is lining up next to those who would support such a thing.
K-9 Posted February 23 Author Report Posted February 23 So, if I understand gruppenfuhrer Musk correctly, Boeing’s inability to make a reliable space craft means “political reasons.” Right.

Indabuff Posted February 24 Report Posted February 24 I am beyond flabbergasted that somehow Musk has been given this incredulous amount of authority and he comes out on a stage blinged out looking like a third Blues Brother and acting like he's just been introduced as a guest on The Tonight Show. Then wields a goddam chainsaw on camera as tens of thousands of people are out of jobs because of him! Are you ***** kidding me?!
K-9 Posted February 24 Author Report Posted February 24 A very good family friend for years, whom we actually consider part of the family, was sent the Musk email and was immediately advised by her supervisors NOT to respond. She is a lawyer for the Navy whose job it is to review Naval contracts with both current and potential contractors for various equipment, systems, etc., most of which is classified. Apparently, a huge number of the email’s recipients also deal with classified information and have been told not to respond as well. Just when you think gruppenfuhrer Musk and his team of young turks really can’t be that stupid, they come along and top themselves. Not an easy thing to do, that.

When you're as arrogant as EM and his lot are, they have no concept of their own inabilities. They believe everything they done is correct and everything they think of is wise. When things go sideways, even though they did it, they will blame "the others" whoever they determine them to be. Usually they pick enemies or those too weak to defend themselves.
K-9 Posted February 25 Author Report Posted February 25 I’ll bet that 40% is gonna be a low number before these hacks are done. What a crackerjack team of post-pubescents. https://apnews.com/article/doge-federal-contracts-canceled-musk-trump-cuts-a65976a725412934ad686389889db0df#:~:text=produce no savings-,Nearly 40% of contracts canceled by Musk's DOGE,expected to produce no savings&text=Nearly 40% of the federal, the administration's own data shows
Hank Posted February 25 Report Posted February 25 I'd take anything the AP writes about the Trump administration with a boulder of salt.
