If he got a bridge deal, how many more years before he becomes a UFA?

Would he take a bridge deal, if so at what cost?

-Best plus-minus among all D-men on the team (and a positive player on a negative team)

-Top 5 pick in his draft, only 23 years old

-Cup winner, playoff experience

-getting 1st pair minutes, 2nd on the entire team in ice time

-his advanced stats skating metrics off the charts (almost) for a D-man (83rd percentile among all players in top speed, 90th in speed burts...everyting near the top of the league in those metrics)

-salary cap going WAY up the next few years.

I thought he was an RFA and will be a UFA in 2027. Β I could be wrong. Β  Either way, an RFA or UFA can be traded at the deadline, the risk is that the acquiring team might only get a rental. Β

He was a RFAΒ

Better be careful: all of his numbers are a direct result of playing with DahlinΒ

This is why you have so much value in a guy like DahlinΒ

I missed the stupid staged fight from Gilbert as my wife decided to unplug our WiFi right before the game started. Β Probably for the best. Β I would have skewered this org more than I already do which is saying something.Β

Gilbert's face doesn't look any worse for the wear.Β  That's something, I guess.

One argument for Byram to stay on the Sabres on a bridge deal is the ability to play with Dahlin for 2 years, then hit the open market when the cap is $113M.

I just read that Muel is on IR, not a healthy scratch technically. Β

Only 1 more game after today before a 2 week breakΒ

Prob told him to get an early startΒ

With the 4 Nations break coming, there's plenty of time to shop him to some GM who really liked him from his draft year and figures it's just the Buffalo culture and he'll be a Cup winner once he's on your team. Or just waive him down to ROC.

Yes…..on the other hand I believe Lafferty was a healthy scratch (again) tonight

I thought Lafferty was a good bottom 6 addition; he had good stretches including offense on the Canucks. I was wrong.

That is true.

Even strength he is a +11 playing with Dahlin, a -5 playing with everyone else combined.

His Corsi, Fenwich, expected goals for and against...many of those advanced stats all better with Dahlin than without, some by a wide margin.

I want to like MuelPO, the often-dismembered semi-lead character. He had potential to be a good middle-6 (and briefly paired with R2-D6 it all made sense).

MuelPO, you're going down a path I can't follow! You're breaking my heart!

Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre didn't like the staged fight, either. Why does Gilbert have to answer the bell for his cowardly teammates the next game against Olivier? What good does it do?

Now, go start another, real fight. Go run someone. They're holding your 8th playoff spot and they're vulnerable!
