That’s a little weird since he was supposed to skate in the AHL all-star game tonight. Maybe after the game he will report to Buffalo?

 

He participated in the skills challenge last night.

I hope they give him a real shot. Play him with Kulich as they are best friends and have great chemistry.

If Tage is playing would they want to mess with that line’s chemistry?

Typically stupidity by the Sabres organization to deprive the kid of a chance to enjoy the all-star experience.

I remember hating the pick from GMKA (thought it was a reach), but I hope Rosen proves me wrong.

Maybe the success Kulich has had recently is behind the decision to give Rosen another look.  It seemed like their development cycles have been tracking each other's the last few seasons.

For what it's worth, despite being picked several spots later in his draft that Rosen was in his draft, I've always thought Kulich was the better prospect.

And I agree with those above that unless there's an injury forcing Rosen to get called up to play, let the kid enjoy his All-Star experience and call him up in 3 days.  If he ultimately sticks with the Sabres this season or next, Rosen is not likely to be seeing any more All-Star experiences in his career.  If his NHL career pans out, he'll likely be a middle-six winger and those guys are not playing in All-Star games.

Replacing Tage I can see, replacing Kozak I don't get. He's not a 4th line player if you want any sort of identity. The call ups should mirror the type of player you are replacing and his role on the team but whatever.

The idea that he is being deprived of his “AHL All Star experience” is pure conjecture. Does it occur to people that perhaps he will enjoy is NHL experience even more?

Probably Quinn. He got jacked twice yesterday and only played a season low 8:41. Only had 2 shifts after the SHG by Jack Hughes.
