Given Zucker’s response, I don’t think he’s coming back either, and becomes the #1 odds to be the Sabre moved out at the deadline.  He’s a mercenary.  I had hopes otherwise, but I don’t see him in the same light now.

The reason he's not playing tonight is coming out of the team meeting, not any bumps or bruises suffered against Jersey.

And thank you for the Zucker observation. I'm not saying he's nothing but a mercenary, but there's a real tendency toward 'emperor has no clothes' thinking about certain players around here. No Sabre was closer to the Tage hit than Zucker.

Not to mention his past comments on situations like this make it all rather damning

I continue to find the coordination in these matters to be interesting. Hopefully it's flowing from Bettman down and the league has some ideas for solving The Buffalo Problem.

I agree.  It proves nothing.  If anything, the staging of it makes what happened last game even worse, if that's possible.  It also fails to answer an important question.  When the next player lays a cheap hit on one of ours, catching our team completely off-guard, how will we respond?

Under this ownership and management…..NEVER!  To them, it’s all about having a tight room of guys who love each other (so to speak)….but when the chips are down, they run and hide vs. confront.  As far as inside the locker room, I’d rather have some tension within the team to make them uncomfortable with each other for a change.  Getting along ain’t working, so get some alpha males who will get into fellow teammate faces and challenge them to be better.
