Are each of y'all too young to remember "tenor Joe Byron?" Nothing fancy. But put some respect on that man's name! ... Also. Wth?! These are NOT the words I recall from the Canadian national anthem. I generally want to know other than he wasn't allowed to sing because he didn't get vaccinated during covid from what I'm gathering reading. Is he a famous singer? Do tell! The significance is Doug sang the anthem for a long time. It’s nostalgic just like Rob Ray’s career. Doug is a local guy who likes performing & is passionate in his religious beliefs. I’ll let him tell you: http://www.anthemguy.com He’s just your average “nut” who overdoses on orange juice. This guy is a real hoot! LabattBlue Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago Doug Allen back for a game? They are pulling out all stops to try and get fannies in the seats. If I was him, I would tell them to go pound salt. What’s next? Finally giving “swords of a thousand men” a try as the goal song?😂 Quote

This guy is a real hoot! Nice, I appreciate the information. I’ll be honest I’ve been watching hockey since the mid 80’s and never heard this guy in my life but I also used to tape all games and get rid of everything but the fights lol so I was probably just oblivious back then. 1 Quote

But is it "over the top" for him just to mention it and state a summary of his creed? Btw, I ask this as someone who thinks most Evangelicals focus unduly (even exclusively) on Christ's death and resurrection, and the resulting salvation of people's souls, instead of focusing, y'know, on what the dude [reportedly] said and did, and just how he rolled generally (being poor and itinerant -- hanging out with people whom society shunned). Never gave it second thought. Just figured a few words changed and that was that. My Canadian friends never said he was singing it wrong at that time. Anything is possible I guess. Quote
