Maybe its an injury thing, or position? Because I agree. Kubel hasn't been great and he has been in and out of the lineup. Neither Lafferty or him are putting up any kind of numbers, but I thought Aubel-Kubel was the better player between the 2 of them. Quote

In the Ruff presser he did say Greenway was close. This move is overdue. He's been awful and added nothing. The much heralded new 4th line has been garbage all year. Kozak was better and should be in the line up over these stiffs. Waive Lafferty next. 1 Quote

I like Greenway a lot and would hope that he would be willing to stay with the right offer. But what happens if he tells the front office that he would prefer to be moved to a better functioning organization that will give him a chance to compete in the playoffs? The owner has created an organization that is unappealing to many players. The obstacles that this franchise has to overcome are the same obstacles that itself created. The never-ending loop of incompetency that has handcuffed this franchise since Terry Pegula bought this franchise. Quote

GoPuckYourself Posted Monday at 11:19 PM Report Posted Monday at 11:19 PM Really surprising consiidering Kubel, malenstyn were so instrumental in Washington and was a fan of lafferty from a far but I guess when they come here they turn into ***** like the rest of them. 1 Quote

I think it's sadder that most of us gave them the benefit of the doubt. The preseason "Do we make the playoffs poll" where the vast majority voted yes was largely centered around these guys and the fact we ditched Skinner. Edited Tuesday at 03:38 AM by JoeSchmoe Quote

I looked at my thoughts from that thread and I was leaning toward not making the playoffs because of the poor special teams and the need to improve defensively. Sadly I turned out to be correct; they didn’t improve defensively and didn’t improve on special teams and therefore they aren’t making the playoffs, but I honestly didn’t expect them to be this bad. Doohicksie Posted Tuesday at 12:56 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 12:56 PM (edited) The players that were brought in have not kept the Sabres out of the playoffs. The reason the team has faltered is that our top six just haven't played as well as they have over periods in the past. We looked for players like Tage, Cozens, Quinn and JJP to take the world by storm and they simply haven't. Edited Tuesday at 12:57 PM by Doohicksie 3 5 Quote
