My statement is true. They have produced the same number of points 5 on 5 and Power is the bigger liability on defense. His one extra goal this season came on the PP which Byram doesn't play. A player who has scored more points than another provides more offense. Goals and assists scored on the PP are still tallied in the points column by NHL statisticians. Players are generally put on the PP because they are the best at generating scoring opportunities during a period of advantage for the team. Scoring = offense. At the point you made the statement, it was in fact incorrect. There is nothing left to say regarding that. 1 Quote

Zucker shouldn't, either, although he's a bit older so he want to settle down in a good hockey town and make good money as he spins down. Eventually, GM Sheevyn can give him the Okposo-trade-to-a-contender treatment because doing good things for your veterans and for other GMs is how you something something. If I'm McLeod or Byram, I'm going one of two routes: arbitration or looking for a nice offer sheet to let the ownership know I don't want to be here. If I'm Quinn or JJP, I'm also looking for one-year offer sheets if eligible for it, and let the suitor know I'm open to signing an extension with them. Nothing long-term here. Quote

It's not who he is. There isn't a great deal of physicality in college hockey, anyway. Not like the NHL (or the AHL). But the FO, if they had any presence of mind, had to think if he understood what was needed for the NHL he'd become a bigger, stronger, faster player who could use his size and 'power' to good effect. Someone needs to light a fire under that kid or he's another wasted top pick. And we are likely on our way to another high draft pick, top 3-4, who might come into the league when he turns 21 or 22 and everyone will say, "Well, he's still young." Quote
inkman Posted January 26 Report Posted January 26 I honestly find it hard to believe that people are still invested enough in this franchise to discuss theoretical issues for next season. 2 Quote

What else have we got to discuss? We do probably need more Amerks talk. They at least have a chance to win every night. Quote
Alaska John Posted January 27 Report Posted January 27 The Sabres ought to give Kaiir Elam a tryout. Maybe he can play hockey -- he sure can't play football. 1 Quote
