HumanSlinky39 Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Phew. Not pretty, but need every W we can get. Not even thinking about the P word, these guys just need to learn how to win. Edited 4 hours ago by HumanSlinky39 1 Quote

Sabres73 Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago Nice win, with solid games from several of our young players. You could see they were hustling out there and wanted this one. 3 Quote
Pimlach Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago I cannot believe they gave up a SOG in the final seconds. Good win. UPL was big. Can we stop the Levi stuff. He is not ready. 1 Quote

He is not ready. I truly believe that Levi is the real deal, but he absolutely should stay in Rochester for the next 1-2 years. It’ll be great for him. We are very lucky to have a true number one young goaltender on a fair contract (number one tonight, tomorrow people will claim he’s barely average), and also have a really great young prospect in Rochester. Which is entirely appropriate because this team should all be sent to the Russian front. Me after watching the Sabres get owned by Seattle, then on a back-to-back beat a better team. 1 Quote

I feel smug because he was the Sabres draft pick I liked the best that year but regardless of that, I'm glad he looks good. You can see Ruff thinks the same as he is using him in moments you would think were normally reserved for veterans. He looks like the real deal. I think the Vancouver goal where they just circled and circled and the Sabres moved in tighter and tighter and it just seemed to go on forever until they scored was an example of the worst of what this team is. Just horrendous D, but they came back so what can you do. It was nice to come back and win a game for a change (even if it did look like another collapse in the final minutes until the clock ran out). Quote

Adams has to try to stop trying to make him the number one goalie. He needs 2-3 full years in Rochester much like Calgary developed Wolfe. They should have played Reimer and they should get a better veteran #2 to back up UPL next year. End the blocking nonsense and start developing people properly. Quote

End the blocking nonsense and start developing people properly. Agree. I think the thing is that Levi is on his last contract year and his next contract might not allow them to send him down without being on waivers first. They are hoping he could be their back-up, but that is not going to be a succesful solution. And then, if his numbers says he should be sent down, is he still a young goalie that teams take a chance on, and hope their (probably) better D can make him more reliable? But with UPL and a good veteran back-up, we don't have to think of that. Quote
