Might as well lose every game now. Ownership doesnโ€™t care, FO doesnโ€™t care, players have checked out. If they end up last OA even Pegula canโ€™t justify bringing this clown show back. Only hope is he bumbles himself into a quality hire like with the Bills

At some point he(Pegula) has to realize that maybe he is the problem? I doubt he will, I'm pretty sure he still thinks he is a hockey guy

Gotta be tough to be the bastard step-child of Buffalo sports.

The worst thing for the Sabres is a Bills championship. Itโ€™d just allow Darth Pegulas to stay EEE and Adams another 5 years.ย

But of the remaining teams, I hope the Bills win out.ย

I dunno. An opposing theory is he thinks "OK, I've proven I can build a winner in football. Now watch me build a winner in hockey and become a real big sh1t".

I fully believe their top level management structure can only focus on one major sports team at a time.

But we're getting ahead of ourselves....

Yeah, the 'bumbling into a good hire' thing doesn't fly with this franchise.ย  The best hire in the world likely won't work for him.

Pegula needs to remove himself from most decision making, I don't see that happening.

Their 'point pace' has now dropped into the 60s.

In terms of how many games in a row they needs...its up to 13. Win 13 in a row.

If they win 13 in a row, they will match the point percentage of the team currently in 8th in the conference....ok, why do I bother.

There is no top level management structure. ย  It was Terry and Kim, now itโ€™s all Terry. ย There is no layer for PSE or One Buffalo anymore. ย He has common COO, and Legal, and a few others. ย All direct to him.ย

Sabres org chart ย https://theorg.com/org/buffalo-sabresย  ย The way Terry has this set up literally everyone reports to him ย

The Bills org chartย https://theorg.com/org/buffalo-bills-llcย Terry has 8 direct reports on the Bills side (includes Kim)ย

Comparing the two the Sabres chart tells you what you need to know ย ย

How many empty net goals have we given up? It must be a record.

Sabres inability to get games to OT is incredible.

And the amount of times a team scores right after us as well is astonishing.

Does anyone else think it should be a benchable offense to try and dangle through a defender with an empty net like Quinn did?ย

Itโ€™s just bizarre to me that this keeps happening in critical moments (Tage multiple times). Why tf are you trying pull off a fancy move especially in that moment? Itโ€™s just inexcusable imo.

He canโ€™t remove himself from the decision making process when he is the decision making process. ย

So you want to replace everyone? ย  That is what got us here.ย

I cant watch to โ€œhope they loseโ€. ย If I ever stop caring about the franchise Iโ€™ll just stop watching. ย

If you care about the franchise you will realize it needs to be nuked.ย

This analogy doesn't work. If we had a Home Depot with unlimited supplies (aka players), then it would.

Unfortunately though, there is no Home Depot of players. There's very few building supplies available in the NHL... Especially in Buffalo. We learned this the hard way by tanking as hard as we did.

So you gotta work with what you have, build on the existing foundation and hope for the best.ย

No the analogy works. You have a budget. You can't spend over it so if you can't find the thing you need in the store you cobble together something else. You build your own. Home depot can also run out of whatever you need because somebody else bought it first and new ones are on back order.ย

The problem is the foundation is wrong, so no matter what you try to build it will fall down and your basement will flood.ย

Torts would. You are right though, trying to make fancy plays happens all too often along with too much perimeter play as discussed often.ย

Two lousy teams going nowhere played an even game. They are slightly less lousy so they won. Bor-ing.ย

Good god! I just donโ€™t know what we did to deserve this!

Not only are the Sabres absolutely terrible, but that game was un-*****-watchable at times. Just awful hockey.

Terry, for the love of god, ย sell the team.

Reflecting on the way homeโ€ฆ

I hate to break it to usโ€ฆ but maybe the Sabres arenโ€™t all that good.

I also am not enough of an extrovert to get a โ€œFire Sheevynโ€ chant going amongst a bunch of Kraken-loving strangers.ย

Only if the team stays is that a viable option

The team is not going to move. We have been hearing this BS for over twenty years.

The team is not moving. Sell the team.

Sheevyn

Is it too late to ask for the origin story of Kevyn Adams Star Wars nickname?ย
ย

On a related note, is it also too late to ask the same of Schnowย

Why does it matter ? ย  What real difference does it make now? ย  Sometimes you have to take a riskย

terry keeping the team only ensures that you will never enjoy Sabres hockey againย
