Always nice to beat a good team, but could they please hire a sports psychologist to teach these guys how to not ***** pucker with a lead?

I’ve been advocating for this for a while that it should be a major focus of the organization. Especially with our perpetually young team. I truly believe a lot of this is in their heads and it should be actively worked on as much as their physical skills during practice.

You take a win over Carolina in any matter but they REALLY need to figure out how to extend a lead rather than just hang on

Not to mention - how frustrating is the loss to Seattle now? That should be 4 in a row and if they COULD hold  the lead they would be 5-1-0 in 2025 but they are only 3-2-1

So, Power is soft as 💩. He was horrific defensively in the third.

So tiring

It will be nice to care about wins again someday

Need a 5 game win streak to even consider being emotionally involved

The espn and NHL aps have that last goal credited to Thompson right now with assists. I’d love to know where they get the data from because I’ve seen a lot of oddities throughout the year.

Gretzky mentioned this. Thompson was the last person to shoot the puck. I just came in here to ask where in the rulebook does it say McLeod would be credited with that goal.

I wonder how long it will take for their sphincters to relax. I’m guessing a while with a lengthy hot soak in the jet pools. Hopefully it won’t require “tools of intervention.”

Some quick thoughts on this game. UPL gets the first star. And McCleod gets the second star.

Territorially, Carolina dominated the game, especially in the third period.

We weren't the better team but I thought the effort was there up to the third period when we seemed to just desperately hang on.

I don't know what the stats were but we were not very good on the draws.

What's worrisome is the negative psychology of this team when it is stressed. Especially in the third period, with only one shot on net, the players were simply hanging on and playing not to lose.

We won against a good team. I'll take it.

I’m too lazy to dig up the rule but it should go to the player who is awarded the penalty shot. Essentially they just assume he doesn’t trip over the red line on the attempt.

Im assuming they announced it in the building. I’d love to know where these stats come from.

They are correct. Since Thompson was the last Sabre to touch the puck, he gets credit.  McLeod was slashed before he touched it.

All the Sabres reporters are reporting it.
