I think it is a common theme with those who have been in this cesspool... with the exception of Bylsma like 10 years later I really can think of 1 person in this disorganization who has been here post Ruff 1  as GM or Coach that has gotten an equivalent job in the industry after participating in this mess.   Just thinking off the top of my head... (Reiger, Murray, LaFontaine, Botterill, Kreuger, Rolston, Housley, Meatballs, Brandon, Nolan, and lord knows if and when Adams gets fired he will join this list.)

I've seen him several times at the Ice Den Scottsdale as an employee of the Coyotes (wearing coyotes branded gear) and hanging out with the team brass.    My boys were there often for tournaments over the years and at the time the Ice Den was the Coyotes practice facility.     I want to say that was sometime around 2017-2019.     I remember being surprised to see him as he was just recently llet go by Buffalo and hadn't heard any news about his hiring anywhere else.

Tim, as you know, has been living in semi-seclusion in Northern Quebec ever since the unfortunate Denny Pratt tragedy.'

Post of the day. Now I have to stream Slapshot... a Classic.

I liked GMTM. He was a straight taker who wasn’t afraid to take risks. I think if he had continued with the team he would have figured out how to get the right combination of players to make the playoffs.

Reiger went to Arizona as Sr VP an AGM after Buffalo

Housley went to Arizona after Buffalo. Now he is Associate Coach for NYR

Botterill is one of the three Assistant GMs in Seattle

The rest are not with NHL teams to my knowledge.  Patty LaF still  works for the league in some capacity.

say what chris rock GIF

Straight talker - yes

Not afraid to take risk - yes, in a bad way.

Get us to the playoffs?   Impossible - he stripped the team, the farm, the culture, and everything else.  No class, no tact, no plan.  One and done and never to be heard of again.  A classic example of nepotism if there ever was one.

Rolston is back where he belongs, coaching in college. He was a part of a long trend of teams giving USNTDP coaches a shot. I’d have to take a closer ooo at the list, but I can’t think of many working out too well. Hynes is the only one I can think of who keeps getting job after job.

There’s no shame in coaching in that world. Some are just better at the developmental levels.

edit: And on a side note, that’s a we’ll the Sabres continue to go to. It’s a very long list starting at the end of the Regier years.
